| Training, Bathing, eating...need advice with everything! Hi. I have a puppy who is aprox. 3 months old - need advice about everything. Bathing - how old must he be etc before i can bath him? Eating - am I allowed to give him treats and what treats are allowed? Toilet training - This is a big one!! I don't have a kennel for him or a crate? he sleeps with me at night and during the day he plays with his sister (my mom's) and sleeps in a basket bed with her... Have I forgotten anything? Thanks in advance! |

| You can bathe him now, just not very often or it wil dry out his skin. Make sure to use puppy shampoo- tear free. I use teeny tiny pieces of boiled chicken for Ella for treats. Its all she likes. For potty training, I either watch her or she is in her kennel. If I have to take the trash out, she goes in her kennel and when I come back inside I take her out. This is just so that I can prevent accidents, and catch her in the act to correct her- its more effective if you stop them while they are trying to potty, rather than seeing a puddle ten min later and scolding. I take her outside every hour, especially when she wakes up or 10 min after she eats or drinks. I have been very successful so far, it seems! (I have only had her for 2 weeks) Many people have different potty training ideas, this is just mine! I prefer not to use the potty pads- but some love them! Good luck hope this helps. PS Post pictures!!! And whats his name??

| Hi. I have a puppy who is aprox. 3 months old - need advice about everything. Bathing - how old must he be etc before i can bath him? You can bathe him now---just make sure you dry off his ears really well! And, groom him after his bath Eating - am I allowed to give him treats and what treats are allowed? I recommend only carrots and cheerios or nature's best treats (limited!!!!) some people do boiled brown rice and cooked chicken--no seasoning Toilet training - This is a big one!! we use puppy pads I don't have a kennel for him or a crate? he sleeps with me at night and during the day he plays with his sister (my mom's) and sleeps in a basket bed with her... Grooming is a big part of puppy care---daily brushing, brush teeth, clean out ears, clean hair out of ears, trimming or going to be groomed. I recommend picking up a book on Yorkie care---they need special care to stay healthy for a long time! And, make sure your puppy is eating high quality food---a lot use Royal Canin or Nature's best--read the threads here there are some VERY experienced and wonderful people. Have fun!!! Have I forgotten anything? Thanks in advance! |
