She was like yeah... one of the stupidest dogs.... I dont think Ella is stupid... she goes potty outside 6 outta 7 times I tell her to and she has only had 5 accidents in the ONE week I have had her and 2 were completely my fault! She knows the word no very well and she knows kennel and basket ( her little bed). Yorkies really arent stupid are they......

AND then for HER to comment that Yorkie's are Stupid? the conversation would have ended already, before it had even got there. I would not stand anyone coming to my home insulting a family member. Yorkie's BTW, are very smart. That is no friend to be talking crap like that about a beloeved pet . How dare she!!!

| They are brilliant!! I may not know much about dogs but my costco book on yorkies tells me they are medium high to high on the intelligence scale on how fast they learn their commands Costco book aside, my yogurt has everything figured out. What he can do or get away with and with whom. He mastered all his tricks within 5 mins of teaching him ( with the execption of shake) Gosh I am ranting blindly trying to defend my baby |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I think our Yorkie is very smart. I didn't know how it was going to go since she'd been in a cage the first 4 years of her life. But in less than a year she knows alot and some she taught herself. I do not think this is a stupid breed at all. You can EASILY teach an older Yorkie new tricks!

| I try to avoid confrontations and rude ppl when possible, and consider the source but this is more easily done with strangers. I can walk away from an idiot who just made a rude comment but.....This is a person you know and she was a guest in your home which changes the dynamics completely. I would have deffinately reminded this person that she was a guest in my home and I would appreciate it if she would act accordingly. Saying things so rude about your dog is inexcusable. I suppose she thought that since her remarks were about a dog and not a person, it was OK but she needs to be reminded that most of us who have beloved pets sharing our homes consider them to be more than just "dogs". Depending on her comments following that, I may ask her to leave. |

| How can people speak without thinking like that? I have owned pom's, (mine) daschunds, american eskimo's, cockers, beagles,(all my childrens while at home) and black and tan and plot coon hounds.(husbands)and the list goes on lol, out of all of those breeds I have to say my little Yorkies are the smartest of them all. Learn faster when housebreaking, teaching tricks, and obeying commands. Evidently this person has never been around a Yorkie for very long periods of time.

| Wow, really? I've definiely met a lot of dumber breeds... lol. Jackson's actually the smartest dog I've ever had and learned so quickly. He's one of those dogs that does tricks and I never thought I'd have a dog like that.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I've talked to a couple yorkie people who can't have a conversation at home without spelling certain words to each other. Now that wouldn't happen if the yorkie was dumb.

| Yeah, Curly...er, I mean, that thing is so stupid, at 8 weeks old it took her at least 10 minutes to learn how to sit, stay, lay, roll over, high five, bang, and treat! Then it was so awful the way she took several attempts...at least a couple weeks to be fully and completely potty trained. That stupid little thing! You know what really gets me? When Curly fakes peeing for a treat! So stupid. YEAH RIGHT. I'd have slapped the biotch right then and there. Next time you see her, tell her for me how stupid SHE is to open her mouth like that in your home! |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | Yorkie are very smart....for instance....I can't keep Mei Ling inside crates with 2 particular locks...she can unlock herself and get out....they are pleaser and they learn all their tricks very fast within minutes.....so maybe its because she never owned on... like i used to think they were mean yappy dogs...until I got Tootsie....and it was funny i was at petco and some ladies seen a yorkie on the yorkie magazine and was like they are cute...but don't let the cuteness fool you...because i would never own for they are mean and yapping....and i started laughing for i used to think the same way....

ahahaha, they are too smart! i can never have the words treat, park, walk, and shower spoken without carrying them through. the other day my little niece came over and was watching dora the explorer. the words treat, park, and walk was in dora or her friends' every other sentence. i was trying to avoid eye contact with yogurt for the rest of the day to confront his false excitement. | |

| Stupid? They are smart enough to get me to do just about anything they want! They can "talk" without words, lead me around the house without a hand to hold, wrap me around their little paws, and make a huge place in my heart for them to be loved. What is that saying .... "dumb, yeah dumb like a fox!" I feel sorry for people who really do not know the joys of Yorkie ownership.

| The lady needs to research Yorkies! They are intelligent dogs. I have to agree, they are "smart" and Bella's been one of the fastest learning dogs I've ever had. Don't take offense to the lady, she just doesn't have a clue.
