| I have seen some people suggesting to get a baby Onesie if your pup doesn't like the collar. I'm not quite sure on size, but maybe you can do a search for the threads on here.

YT 2000 Club Member | Ive never had any of my animals have to wear the lampshade after a routine spaying/neutering. Tucker had is done when he was four months old and at the same time had a hernia fixed and he didnt have to wear one. They are generally ok after 2 days, you still have to keep them from jumping around and stuff but I dont think he would need to wear it all the time.

| I wouldn't make him wear it. Jackson didn't wear it once and he did fine. Was back to completely normal by the 4th day.

| Both of my males had to wear the E-Collar after they were neutered. Sammy wore his for 3 months. He chewed all his sutures out right after surgery and thank God he was still on the floor and they saw him bleeding. He had to be put back under and restitched. Then I thought he was safe @ home if I watched him. NOPE...He chewed the stitches and He had to wear it for 3 months Because, He pulled the inside stitches outside. I finally cut them myself and took off the E-Collar. Baron was just done May 12th...He too would not leave it alone and licked the outside glue off and the surgery site opened up so that you could see the stitches. The outside has been healed close for 2 days But, I still put it on him @ night or when we go away . Keep a very close eye on him, they are quick... Or my 2 were just weird...LOL

| I only put the collar on Missy when I wasn't able to keep an eye on her. It's important that he doesn't lick his incision or tear out any stitches.

| It seems it depends on the vet, my vet never even mentioned anything about ecollars when any of mine have had their surgery. As long as they aren't bothering with the site they are fine, however having him wear it at night when your sleeping isn't a bad idea.

| Momo's stitches were buried & he didn't care for the surgery site at all...he was running around & jumping the next day! I had to carry him around, just to prevent him from hurting himself. If your boy doesn't seem bothered by it, then he doesn't need the lamp shades.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Neither of my guys really bothered their sutures. You can use a Onesie instead of the shade.
