Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I honestly think if you have teeth problems with breath problems also - I would go if not twice a year - once a year - Yorkies can be prone to dental problems and you want him to have teeth his whole life - so I would think about a cleaning/scaling and they'll make them all sparkly and pretty again - and no icky breath - I love the way both my girls breath smells but have a feeling Cheri will be the one who needs more dental visits...after she had her's cleaned & baby teeth pulled....her breath was lovely again. |

| What can I do to help prevent him from having to have them all of the time? I don't like having my babies put to sleep a lot.

| Daily brushing helps to keep the build up down...Yoda loves getting his teeth brushed ( twice a day) , but not all dogs like it.

| Turbo just had his done yesterday, $600.00!!!! Both he and Little Bear had their teeth done a year ago. Giving them Dentabone helps some and brushing daily of course. Turbo will attempt to remove my arm before he'll allow brushing to take place but I do use a mouth wash from the vet's office every day. He hates that as well. If you are unlucky enough to have a yorkie with bad teeth plan on having them done once a year. Otherwise you should only have them done when the vet says they need it. There is a coating available that you can put on their teeth after brushing that is supposed to help. I tried it but it didn't work in Turbo's case. |

$600. If you don't mind my saying that's outrageous. It's only about $150 here if that. I would say that is on the high end.

| Great advise everyone. I think a pro cleaning should be done once a year if necessary. I agreed that brushing their teeths daily and giving them dental bones will help. Flakes, Ouch $600 for dental cleaning. I hope Gucci dont need this done too often. That is why i brush her teeth even if she fights me. |

| Ok, where do you good folks live that are only paying $75.00 and $150.00 I think I need to move there. I presently have three yorkies and at the prices our vets are now charging I'll be bankrupt in no time flat. Last year it was $1,000.00 for Little Bear and Turbo's teeth. I'm in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. If any of you know of a cheaper vet on the Island please share the name and address. Clearly I have to find a more reasonable one. |

| That is expensive!!! Here it is 150.00 at one of our vets, and 75.00 at the other.. depending on the size of course.
