| Emily had siezure 1 1/2 old at vet's now I am sitting at home on pin's & needles because I had to rush my emily to the vet this am. We were going for a walk when I decided to water my flowers. Emily sat down and waited patiently for me to finish. She isn't ever outside, except to walk. and started to dig her nose in the dirt and I scolded her. She stopped. I finally started out on our walk and instead of happily leading the way, I noticed I had to tug a little on her leash. I looked back(she's never behind me) and noticed she was standing there stiffly, eyes glazed over. She didn't respond to anything I said and then I noticed her defecating. I took her inside and noticed she was limp, heart still beating but slow. Took her to the vet and they have ran a couple of tests. Sure hope they can find out what's wrong. I hope it itsn't liver shunt. I just wanted to talk to others who might have had a similar scare. Please pray for my Emily. Linda |

| Whenever reading about liver shunt, I don't remember seizures being a part of it. Anyone else? Linda, I know how scared and worried you must be, but don't think the worst. Perhaps medication can help. We'll be saying a prayer for little Emily...

| emily's home for the night. Thanks for all the support. We still don't know what happened today but hopefully we'll know more tomorrow. The liver shunt test will come back early am. Noticed Emily is pushing her head along the floor trying to get relief from something also trying to scratch her back on the carpet. I'm wondering if it's a reaction to something. She soon gave up ate quite well and is now sleeping. I hope she will not wake up and want to get at her IV tube that they kept in her arm. Poison Control said that the Miracle Gro and Ironite I sprayed on the yard a week and a half ago were basically unsoluble and non toxic to the rats in the studies. Emily weighs 5 lbs. I'ts possible she could have been bitten by a spider and the IV fluids flushed it out of her system. It's all guessing but hopefully tomorrow they will know something. Thanks for your responses they are a great comfort. Emilys Mom |
