| Doggy Daycare I am considering sending Lucy to daycare once a week. She is very spoiled and needs to be socialized so I figured it would be a good way for her. My concern is her size; three pounds. She is in perfect health and very sturdy. So I guess I just wanted to hear from others who send their pups to daycare, what do they do there and have your dogs done well there; etc..... Thanks |

| We are big fans of daycare. My girls go everyday while we are at work. I would think most daycares are similar to ours in that the dogs are separated by size. My two go with the "minis," and they both have a GREAT time and burn off a lot of energy! There should be a handler in each group to step in if there is ever a problem as well. All the dogs are temperament tested before they are officially accepted into the group too.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I've had the same experience as the above post, except take her just 1 afternoon a week. Roxy absolutely loves it there. When we pull in she gets so excited I can hardly manage to get her in the door. She's usually exhausted when I pick her up. Fri she was quite energized for the first time though. Think she's getting more used to it & happy. The place is clean, well run & someone in with each section milling around with the dogs watching for any trouble. There's equipment to play on, resting spots, & outdoor section for potty breaks, kiddie pools weather permitting & things to climb around on. Dogs free to interact together. Something else I like is they have 5 webcams running. If I'm near my computer I can log in & watch her. Absolutely love this part. Her section has a few dogs larger than I would have thought, but all of them got along so well. At first it scared me.... a lot, but Roxy held her own very well & larger dogs did not bother her at all. If the person in with the dogs sees she was getting tired or overwhelmed, they'll pick her up & hold her for awhile so she could rest. Sometimes put her up on a resting bench. Steps to use for climbing up & down. And it's really close to home. Yea! All dogs are temperment tested & must be current on vaccines, etc.

| I've been hearing so much about doggy daycare, but don't think we have anything around here like that. I pay a dogwalker $20 a walk for half an hour. I would love to take my babies to daycare. Does anyone know of any in Rockland County, NY? It seems I hear a lot about it in the south.

PS: Meant to add above that for all-day dogs there is naptime from 11:30 - 1:30. Dogs are separated out for their naps. They also board dogs. Seems to be pretty popular place. Don't think there's another one in town.

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | I'm jealous. I live in Cloquet, MN and we don't have anything like that here. I have four dogs, Mazie a English Cocker Spaniel , and three Yorkies, Misty, Max, and Mikey. They sure hae a lot of energy and I wish sometimes that I could send them to daycare. I'll pickup the livingroom and 10 minutes later, the toys are all over again. The other day Mikey got a hold of a magazine and started tearing it up. They finally fell asleep but I couldn't get the rest of the magazine cause he fell asleep on it. These pups are a riot! |

If you buy singles, daycare is $30/day each dog, but you can buy packages at ours (and most I would assume) where you get a price break for buying in bulk.
