| My first scam experience! So I seen this ad in our local newspaper and it caught my eye. I have copied it to post............ FREE 2 Teacup Yorkie Terrier puppies. (male/female) Contact robinpeter04@gmail.com I emailed and asked if they still had the puppies and that I was interested if they were available. Well, this is what I get back Greetings to you from the house of the lord, How are you today, hope fine? thanks for your urgent response and interest in taking and creating a good home and care for our babies and i hope their save will be fine with you. My adorable Yorkshire Terrier (puppies) are still very much available for adoption. they are 14weeks old, the male named (cahced) weigh 2lbs and the female named (Terra) weigh 2.5lbs and will weigh big when fully grown. they are both A K C registered and shots are given up to date. both of them are my darling sweetheart and super spoiled! They both have a sweet personality and loves to play and be carried around. I want you to know that i and my family(my wife and 3 kids are on a missionary trip to west africa)along with the 2 Yorkshire Terrier Puppies. So later on we notice that the weather here in africa is very very bad for the puppies to sustain here with us on the missionary trip.So my wife and I decided to ask one of our friend in the state to help us put the advert of the newspaper that we are looking for someone to adopt our babies to the state back.I am very glad that you are willing to take care of them and provide them a good and wonderfull home. Please take note that we should have ask our friend that assist us to place the advert on the paper to adopt our babies. But he is a very busy man,he does not have time to spend with the puppies. So that is why he has to put the advert on the paper. All papers will accompany the puppies when shipped to you, Due to our long staying over here in africa , and the bad weather my Wife and I have concluded to get good home and care for our babies. We are not charging or selling them to you for money but to save thier lifes saved and care for them so this means that, you and i will be paying for the shipment of the puppies to you. they are VET checked, but right now we are in Africa on a Christian mission with my wife and 3 kids together with Terra and Cached, we have the puppies right here with us. We are going to ship to you via a Diplomatic Courier Service Company with Express Delivery on next day delivery, if you are really interested in having my little babies, i want you to get back to me with the below information of yours. Your Full Name : Your Mailing Address: Your Tel #: The Nearest Airport To You: Provide me with the above details of yours to proceed in the shippment of the puppies to you. Please if you know that you are not capable of taking very good care of my babies, do not reply me because i am giving them out because of bad condition and we're spending months for the christain mission and i don't Terra and Cached to die in this bad weather. And because we don't have time to take care of them due to the missionary work before us here. They are priceless to me,therefore i am giving both for free, so i will like you to get back to me with your full name and full address including your nearest airport so that i can find out shipping cost, I want you to know that you and i are paying for the shipping cost. The shipping company is just 5-10mins drive. So i will want you to email me now to know if you are ready to take the babies from us and give them a good home and also i want you to know that you and i will be sharing the shippment fare of the puppies back to you in the state as soon as i find out the cost. I've attached two pics of Cached and two pics of Terra. Thanks and God bless you, Robin. They even attached pics of some yorkies! I replied to them that how dare they use the name of the Lord and they should go to he!! for this one! I told them never to email me again. I even opened the pics they attached, great now I probably have a virus!! I have been through some hard times lately and have a little girl coming but things have been delayed and I thought Hey they are free and obviously need a good home for someone just to give them away, so I responded. I was all excited thinking that possibly I would be getting another baby or even possibly 2. Now I am just MAD!!! I have read these exact scams on here before and I am SO grateful that I come here or I possibly would have fallen for it! I never thought this would happen in good ole southern Illinois!

| I went through this right before we got our little guy and was the exact same scam. I told him almost just what you did. Only I had seen his ad on our OzarksFirst.com site and I emailed them and had it removed. |

Well, this ad was posted in our local Southern Illinoisan, which I have had to post ads in this paper before. They ask you all kinds of contact and personal info. before they will post the ad. I am getting ready to call them, actually looking up the number now. Surely, they will have whoever placed this ad's contact info. Well, I guess if it was real contact info. I am livid over it, how rude. The word FREE should have told me something right there. Nothing in this world is FREE!!!

| I found what I realised was a scam, and passed the details on to our local police station. As a result, warning notice's were printed in newspapers in all the area's targeted. Unfortunately, the warning was too late to save many people from parting with their money. |

| These scammers are getting so clever. I am sure they rip off many unsuspecting people, not just people buying puppies but those selling anything on the internet. My husband placed two separate ads for a tractor a headache rack that his son wants to sell. First the person responded to ask if the tractor was available, a normal question. We reply yes it is, then we get this response: Quote:
I really makes me sick though. When you see puppies free or really cheap I always figure it is a scam. | |

I have a deaf frined so Im pretty used to the TTY... they were not deaf it was a scam , most deaf people can type fairly fast from using TTY

Oh my it is so weird that you just said that they used TTY. I just got off the phone with the local newspaper and the person that made the as used TTY. They actually used a name and number of someone local around here. Darn scammers are getting good!

| It's good to know that they are now using the TTY > Never wire money to complete strangers! It was so good that you knew they were scamming you. The other one, has been around for a long time, all over the United States. I've recieved Email too about Yorkie pups . Nowadays even on Craigs List people are warned about these type of scammers.

| You get an e-mail from a lawyer saying one of your long lost relatives has passed away and left you lots of money. The lawyer needs to get all of your personal information. However, if you look at the spelling, punctuation, and capitalization, you know it cannot possibly be a lawyer. My step-brother almost fell for it until I pointed that stuff out and now he owes me all of that money he was going to inherit from those people!
