| What would you do with these floppy ears? Yes, I've read all of the threads about ears. I just wanted to get opinions on what everyone else would do (or has done) in my situation. Lilah is almost ten weeks. We shaved her ears yesterday. Should I tape them too? Or just wait it out a while longer? I don't want to push it but I also don't want to miss the opportunity for her ears to stand and then it's too late. So, did you shave your Yorkie's ears? How long till they stood after that? Did you tape? At what age? I guess I'm just looking for everyone's stories regarding the ears standing. I HAVE read all of the 'ear' threads and the stickys on how to get them to stand. TIA!

| I didn't do it anything, I like him floppy or standing! hehe. They eventually did stand though by themselves (well... not totally, he went to the groomer and she shaved the tips) and that was at about 4 months of age. They've been standing ever since. First pic - 4 months old, after first grooming, this is what they did for a few days... Second pic -they're like this all the time now at 7mo. hehe Third pic - Him at 9 weeks old, aww, those floppy ears

| If they are floppy and you want them to stand then it's time for the tape. |

| Thanks for the answer, Brittany!! So how long after the grooming did they stand? Immediately? A week later? A day later? Just curious. I surely don't want to push it. My husband keeps saying, "They'll stand on their own!!! Her parents' ears did!" But still... I'm just a freak!

| They won't all stand on their own. I've got two floppy eared yorkies. Of course, we tried taping Ginger's, but it didn't last. They'd stay up for a day or two then fall...

| 10 weeks of age is just too young for them to be standing. Some do, but the majority won't start until at least 12-14 weeks. And even then it's not all the time, as they usually droop some during teething. Yogi is 10 months old and his are just now consistantly up. You've got plenty of time, just keep the tips free from the weight of her hair and she should be fine.

YT Addict | I did not tape Pebbles ears. The first time they drooped I shaved them and with in 2 days they were up. Then one ear drooped again and I shaved the tip and waited and this time it did not go up I waited 2 weeks then shaved again and got ready to tape, but could not bring myself to do it, then the very next morning she woke up and the ear was up and it has been up for 4 days now, strait up! no droop. Also with Pebbles when she woke in the morning most times it would be up but about 3 hours later and it would start to droop. Pebbles is now 4 1/2 months old. So like a lot of people say they go up and down a lot when there teething, so be patient and keep them shaved and I think they will go up on there own like Pebbles seems to be.

| Floppy ears are cute. I wouldn't do anything either. One think I have noticed is that the larger Yorkies (10 lbs+) often have floppy ears. Don't know why. Edie has upright ears, but i wouldn't care either way. |

| I didn't do anything with Coco's ears. They are floppy. I didn't know anything about taping when she was little. I got her when she was about 4 months. She is now 1 year so I guess they will be floppy. I asked her vet and was told that is genetic. I think she looks cute though |
