| Hi Welcome to YT! I wonder why you already have your baby at 8 weeks? Pups should stay with their moms till at least 12 weeks they are better socialized, usually healthier pups. Not a good sign that the breeder(?) let you take him so early. How long have you had him? Maybe he is scared? Usually pups don't start barking until about at least 4 months. Anyway, usually dogs do not bark just to hear themselves barking. They are trying to tell you something. Try to determine what it is they want to tell you and address the issue. If you have any questions, there are lots of knowledgeable people here on YT. We alwayss try to help each other out. Good luck!

| From the time my pup was 6 weeks old she barked everytime she wanted something. Many times she had toys all around, already played, had dinner, water, used the bathroom and napped and still barked. Most the time when I would ramble on talking to her she would stop. So maybe yours just wants the attention all the time. When she would bark for no reason I would hold my hand up and say "shhh" or "uh" (stopping her right in the middle of the bark or when I could tell she was getting ready to). She is much better for it now and only barks when she has a reason to. Good luck, hope it works for ya!

| OHHH! I FORGOT..... (silly me!) MAKE SURE you PRAISE your baby after the barking stops when you use the command with lots of kisses or a treat!

| Welcome! You'll love it here! As for the barking, my baby had that problem too. It was only at night, but it drove us crazy. We finally decided to just try to ignore her for a couple of nights instead of trying anything/everything to get her to stop barking. She finally stopped after she realized she wasn't being abandoned and that it was just time for sleep. It helped to play with her alot right before our bed time so that she was ready to go to sleep when it was time for bed. |
