| Hi and welcome to yt. I would just let her settle in at her own pace. The poor baby's little world has just be turned upside down and is probably a bit afraid. I am sure that she will come around. She is still trying to figure out where she is and what's going on. As for a collar, she may not like having it on. You should be very careful with collars as they can get caught on things. These little ones have delicate necks and collapsed trachea is something that can happen from too much tension on their little necks. Just give Bella a little time and I am sure in no time she'll be giving you all sorts of lovins and yorkie kisses! Can't wait to pictures.

| I have three yorkies and their all different. When I got my little boy last year he seemed to like my other dogs better than me. Now he is the biggest cuddler and doesn't leave my side! I'm sure your little one just needs time to adjust. There is so many new things in her life right now I would wait before putting a collar on her. I didn't put a collar on my three until they were a little older. Be patience and soon she will be your best buddy Hope to see pictures soon and Congratulations on your new furbaby. |

| Like the others have said, just give her a little time to settle in. Gracie Ruth wasn't really into the whole cuddle/petting thing at first either but now she'll whine pitifully if I won't pick her up and cuddle her sometimes. If she's happy sitting on your lap, then that's what I'd do and give her a treat or two and some praise. Also, with G at first, she liked to be scratched more then stroked. So I used that to start forming the bond. As for the grooming, well, none of mine 'like' it, but they have all learned to be good during it. Short sessions with lots of treats & praise, being very careful to not pull the hair will do the trick. It took G & Yogi about 6 months to accept it.

| I have a girl that has never liked it to be stroked and I found that (hope I am going to explain this properly.............) I sort of "nibble" with my finders in her coat, up and down her spine when she is sitting on my lap. She just loves it and will come for her "nibble" massage. Sort of what they do when they have something stuck in the coat on their feet and will "nibble" with their teeth to get it out. OK!!!!!!!!!!! This sound completely crazy.......... |
