| Cesar Millan vs. Victoria Stillwell? Who you prefer? Dog Whisperer's Cesar Millan or It's Me or the Dog's Victoria Stillwell as trainers? Personally, I really honestly love both. I enjoy both of their shows and learn SO much from both of them. I think they're two different trainers yet more alike than most think. They both preach about leadership and the human owner being at the top of a food chain of sorts. No eye contact, no touch, type thing they both speak about. I like Victoria because a lot of the stuff she teaches can easily be done in ANY one's home and owners can practice. Alot of the things Cesar teaches are hard to do without HIM because a lot of times he will bring dogs to his center full of mild, calm, submissive pack members but not everybody has the advantage to bring their dog around other calm dogs! However, if I HAD to pick... I think I'd pick Cesar over Victoria. Cesar just seems to have more of a "way" with dogs and communicating with them. He's not about teaching them to do tricks and lay down, etc but more so about learning to become a pack leader and "communicate" with your dog. I have truly learned so much from him and since the day I brought Jackson home at 9 weeks old, I have been practicing some of his methods, especially about the calm and assertive energy. I've gotten loads of compliments on what a good dog Jackson is when I bring him out in public to other peoples houses. He's a very calm dog and I think it's due to Cesar's methods. That's something you can use in everyday life. I just think he's a very wise, intellectual man and you can use his techniques not only with your dogs but in your everyday life. Victoria is a VERY good trainer as well and I have definitely learned a lot from her too. But sometimes she can just annoy me. I'm not sure what exactly it is. But her methods do work as well. Cesar and her are similar enough yet different enough for me to learn different ways of teaching new things so I really love both of them. How about you?

| That's funny, I was thinking about this last night. I was wondering if they watch eachother shows and critique one another. They probably disagree on some things and agree on others. Anyway, I prefer Cesar. I watch his show more often and I just seem to learn more from him.

| I don't know much about Caeser, have not seen his show more than once or twice but I love Victoria. I have even read her book. I have used her methods and they are great. Especially with my large dogs, they work wonders.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Victoria, all the way! I'll go with the minority and say Victoria Stilwell. She is pretty bitchy, so I can see why people would find her off-putting. I think she's hilarious though. She's so nice to dogs and so mean to people. I watch her shows again and again, and I get something new out of them each time, even the re-runs. I prefer Victoria because I think her show is more practical and really about everyday things you can do to improve your dogs behavior. I feel like Cesar's show is more about the myth of Cesar. I would agree that Cesar seems more intuitive about dogs, which is why I prefer Victoria! I'm much more into rules and structure, if you do A, your dog will do B, not touchy-feely, feel no fear and your dog will magically submit. Also, I think Victoria is much more accurate about explaining what she's doing. I remember one time Cesar said you should scratch a fearful dog's chest, rather than his head because it makes him feel "proud", while I'm sure Victoria would say (and has said), that dogs find hands over their heads threatening. Just my opinion of course. I don't think anyone would say Thor is the best behaved dog they've ever seen, so maybe I'm backing the wrong horse. ==================== I will say that Cesar has a MUCH better haircut than Victoria! Also, for some reason I did not like last season in America as much as I did the ones in the UK. I'm hoping they get quirkier guests next season.

| My schedule doens't permit me to catch Caesar's show as often as Victoria's. I like them both, though, they both have cute accents. : ) But I agree, i think Vic's methods are easier for us regular folk to do, other than Caesar taking the doggies to the camp. Has anyone ever seem an episode of eithers with a yorkie on it?
