| Hi alaskayorkie, Yes just got a 9 mo. 6 pounds male yorkie. a couple of days ago. just checking txshopper73 post on what to do him smelling like a pee all the time. thinking of shaving his hair on the chest and paw might help. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Oh, man, what's the Yorkie world coming to? Next they'll be pulling teeth because they bite! Just kidding. The hair shaving seems like a desperate measure to me. But I'm no one to second-guess txshopper73. I'm fairly new here too and definitely new to Yorkies. What's your little guy's name? How about posting some pictures. This place is great for learning about Yorkies. Post in the daytime for better luck getting a quick answer. Sometimes these evening posts get lost.

| Welcome to YorkieTalk, nijinsky! Yes, txshopper has some good ideas, you can also immediately wipe him up with a damp cloth after he pees too. But long hair can get pee in it because of its length. |

| Welcome to YT!! I think you will find it very helpful and informative. I have a 2 yr. old Yorkie girl named Toto. She has the very long [to the floor] coat and I definitely understand about the pee pee on the skirt! We keep the hair on her rear "banded" on each of her haunches and also band the tail ... this helps a lot. We have also trained her to expect lots of praise and a little treat when she goes on her pad ... she taught US that in return for all that, she will turn her little rear around while she gets her treat and she stands there until we dry her little "tee tee" with a paper towel!! Hope this helps a little ... I also use the little puppy bath wipes if I detect a pee pee smell before she gets her weekly bath!
