| Riley's big brother probably starved to death I have kept in touch with the woman that I got Riley from via frequent email. I keep her updated on how he is growing and just doing in general. When I picked Riley up from her, she had 2 little boys left. Riley was the smaller one. I had such a hard time choosing because they were both so friendly and loveable and I would have taken them both if I'd had the money. Judy just emailed me that she had placed Riley's brother Friday. Well, Saturday evening, the woman that got him gave her a story about having to have surgery with no insurance and her husband being an a** about her getting him and wanted to know if she could bring him back. She brought him back yesterday morning wrapped in a towel and he couldn't hold his head up. Judy said the woman grabbed her check that she had paid for him with and took off. Judy said she immediately started working on him and he died less than an hour after the woman left. She said his skin had no elasticity to it, so he was dehydrated and probably starved. I wish I had found a way to take him too, he would still be alive. He was such a sweet little boy. Judy said she's been crying since she got him back yesterday.

| That is so horribly sad! And maddening! Sounds like the lady knew she had just about killed the poor thing and went to get her money back too. How can people be like that? Try not to think about the "ifs" -- you could never have imagined something like this. Just tresure your Riley. My heart goes out to the breeder. So difficult to see people's hearts when trying to decide who to sell to.

| Why are some people so evil?? I don't understand how someone could do that to an animal. I also feel terrible for the poor breeder.

| This even touched my husband and there isn't much that bothers him. I don't know if she can do anything about it? Does anyone know?

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I doubt it was starvation but death from dehydration can happen that quickly. I'm not sure there wasn't some underlying problem or cause for him to be dehydrated in a single day's time

| Yes, I suspect he died from hypoglycemia, not starvation. How old were the puppies when they went to their new homes? Yorkie puppies should stay with their mothers until they are 12 weeks old for many reasons, one being that the risk of hypoglycemia is high before 12 weeks. |

| I guess I am confused also from reading your past posts if they are about riley he was 8 weeks in March I cannot imagine his brother the same age dying from hypoglycemia at that age in one day or starvation or dehydration either. Maybe I am looking at the wrong puppy. |

| I think it says the puppy died yesterday, so barely 3 days with the new owner. If the pup didnt eat or drink in that time, i guess there would be serious problems? |
