| how do you handle multiples??? Just wondering as I am new to this, and only have one. My little girl is a handful...I take her everywhere with me, except the supermarket and restaurant. She loves to go in the car and sits and waits in it if she can't go with me.(with the windows cracked open). Between the training, vet bills, food, toys, etc., its has to be very $$$ . I can't imagine life with more? It is so tempting to have another one when you see them though.. |

| It's just that much more fun! Seriously though, my little guy totally perked up when we visited the two girls that live up the street. He stops at every yard where any dog lives to visit, but when we get to the Yorkie house, he just gets all puffed up, like he knows they're the same as him. It also helps if you have a picky eater, the second dog will encourage competitive eating. The vet bills have increased, but before we made the decision to get another dog, I made a mental note of what I would be willing to give up for another Yorkie. It wasn't very hard to do. Plus the vet discounts for multiple pets so that helps. My 1st Yorkie doesn't play with toys too much, so I'm glad the 2nd dog it getting good use of them. Actually she's a maniac with squeaky toys. Food isn't too bad, it's not like feeding Mastiffs or Great Danes.

| Have two, and maybe looking for a rescue in about 6 months. They are just like kids. Get them into a routine and then consistency, consistency, consistency! |

| I would love love love to get another and will someday soon, I probally would not get a puppy tho and opt for a retrired breeder or a rescue dog, the puppy state is alot of fun but also ALOT of work... I love Laci dearly but it really is like having a baby again.. up late to do potty outside, constantly having to supervise her, making sure she gets plenty of supevision, lots of daily walks and play time.. not that you dont have to do this with an older dog but I imagine it would be a little easier... Laci likes to wake up at 2 am go outside to potty and then wants to play fetch!! |

| i have 4 yorkies and it is a lot of work! thank goodness i do have some (not a lot mind you lol) help from my fiance. as far as the expenses go, it IS expensive but i made the conscious effort to spend less on myself (things i really do not need like my 101st pair of jeans lol) so i could spoil my babies it is so much fun to see them all playing and having a good time and then coming over to lay on my lap - or right by me - when they are all tired out. it makes the difficulty worth it for sure!

| Well, I just got number 6 about 3 wks ago. They are just so adorable, and have their own little personalities.......it's like I've got to have another one so I can see what it will be like personality wise! Yes, it is very expensive, yes it is harder; harder to go anywhere, harder to get a good night's sleep, harder to even go to the bathroom, just to name a few things. But you know what...I wouldn't change anything! I wouldn't take a million dollars for my babies! My skin kids are gone and have their own families now, so the yorks are my and DH's life now. Couldn't (wouldn't want to) live without them!

| I just got my second little girl 3 weeks ago and I can't imagine life without her but they are a lot of work. In fact, for the first week I couldn't find time to get on YT!!! I am finally getting a little better adjusting to the two of them. Now I am thinking of getting a rescue, I haven't mentioned it to my DH yet but I am thinking three is a good round number. |

| Other than the vet bills, and too much splurging which I cannot control , I don't find a second to be any more work or much more expense than the first. Now that Holly is grown, she wears the same size clothes as Gracie. They share everything and what they don't share Holly steals from Gracie. For me, the secret was waiting on no. 2 until no. 1 was completely trained. I think multiple dogs is like having multiple skin kids. You get into a routine, you become more efficient with care. Any extra time it takes to care for two is more quality time spent with them.

| Adding to my Family My sister got a Yorkie puppy at the same time I did about 15 months ago and we are so in love with our dogs - possibly one of the BEST things that we've done and she wonders why we didnt do this earlier. LOL My kids are all just about grown now so it was perfect timing for me. Now I am seriously considering adding another puppy to my family this summer and am very excited about it. Reagan is 15 months old now - weighs 9 lbs and is a doll. Very easy puppy, affectionate, active, soooooooo much fun! I am probably going to get another male hopefully will be the same size or slightly smaller when adult (I know it is hard to predict). He really enjoys playing with my son and daughter in laws Rat Terrier - it is fun watching them interact. I already did a lot of research on the ramifications of a second dog - expense, time, etc. but wanted to get YT Forum feedback as well. The only thing I can think of that will be more difficult is when/if I go away - but that would be the case just having one dog. I could have one of my SEVEN KIDS come stay at the house. Looking forward to hearing what you all think. Thanks so much!! Gina |
