| Back to the Diaper for Logan! Logan will be 2 years old in August. We thought we finally had him house trained. He goes to the door and lets us know he needs to go outside, but he is still occasionally peeing and pooping inside the house for some reason. This week he's had three accidents -- two pees and one poop. So he now has to wear a doggie diaper. Is it possible to EVER get a Yorkie house trained??? |

| Our Riley was very hard to train..Just when you thought he had it ....he would have another accident ..... But through persistence, patience... and praise.... he finally has gotten it ! Don't give up....he will come around...It took Riley just a little over 2 years.... but there is hope insight!

| I don't know if Tobey would be trained so well if I had to always take him outside to potty. it wasn't a planned thing to potty pad train him but it just kinda happened since we used them when we first brought him home. all I know is he never ever has accidents and is able to go whenever he needs to!

We taught Logan to ring jingle bells hanging on the door when he needs to go outside, which he does. When the pee accident happened today, I was in the same area as Logan so would have heard him ring the bell or paw at the door. So, he has learned to notify us when he has to go. But for some reason, he doesn't ALWAYS do so. We have house trained a dog before and had no problems, so it's not that we don't know how. We have been told that Yorkies are difficult to train. I don't know what else to do. My husband will not tolerate a dog that potties inside the house. Since Logan is almost 2 years old, it seems too late to pee pad train him. When I'm not here, he stays in his crate (NO accidents there). We tried leaving him in a gated room, but he hated it. I'm just at a loss but feel sorry for him having to wear a diaper. He is miserable. | |
