I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Have you ever tried using Puppy Pads/Potty Pads/Pee Pads/Wee Wee Pads? (sorry, everyone calls them something different LOL). You can get them just about anywhere. I get mine at Wal-Mart. Alot of the pet stores have them and you can also buy them on eBay and other places online. They are just pads that you lay on the floor and your baby can go potty on them (poop and pee) and the pee WILL NOT go through onto your floor or carpet. After they have used the pads, you simply pick them up and discard them and put out a fresh pad. They are GREAT for rainy days and bad weather when your baby can't go outside to potty!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I have nine that refuse to go out in the rain. That is when there is a puppy pad in the garage to use. These california fur babies hate the rain.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I know! I feel so bad when it rains all day and Nolee won't go out to pee! He will hold it until he possibly cannot and then go pee on the concrete near the edge of the covered patio. I will try a pee pad, but not sure Nolee will know that is what it is for. Thanks for posting this and the suggestions given by other members!

| My Binky HATED the rain--hated to get his feet wet. He walked on his FRONT paws when it was wet--needless to say, it's hard to pee doing a handstand. Tee hee.

| You WILL wee wee when it rains! Wow! I didn't realize so many furbutts felt this way. In the the early days, Guinness would literally turn into a stubborn mule. We'd get ten feet from the front door when he does a dead stop and goes into a sit position. He would firmly plant his back legs while his front legs stiffly stretched out before him like he was bracing himself. Then he would pull his head back and lean back with all his weight. I mean seriously, if I were to give the leash a little slack, he would fall over backwards. The following day I decided to get just as stubborn. There we were, ten feet from the door again. It's raining and he's Mr. Mule. I just stood there holding the leash steady, telling myself, this is going to take however long it takes. I have my raincoat and he's getting wet. But eventually he moves forward and we walk to the spot where he does his business. These days, I put on our rain gear, we run to the spot, he does his business, then we run home. |

| Not my Cookie, we use a litter box now but when I was still trying to get her to go outside she loved to play in the rain. She would run and play and roll around in the grass. then when we went back in the house after we were both soaked she would pee or poo in the floor.

| Remy won't poop in the rain! He is fully outdoor trained, but still uses a pad in our condo for pee pee when I don't want to go out. When it is raining he will NOT poop! I've tried staying outside with him, taking him out repeatedly, nothing works. The little bugger just waits. I've tried to get him to poop on the pad but he refuses. Not sure what we are going to do this week because the forecast is for a week of pretty steady rain! Should be interesting |

By the way, we have used the washable, reusable ones from the get go because it's how she learned. Our breeder warned us that she would consider the disposable ones as toys because of the rustle/crinkle sound. By the way, she was housebroken by imitating her mother during those critical weeks she was role modeling for her puppies. Neither our breeder nor we have ever purposely tried to housebreak her. If I could just get her internal time clock adjusted to a new time zone, we'd be set. Naturally she came from a zone hour ahead of us. It's amazing how much an hour difference can mean in the wee hours of the morning. For her safety I crate her at night and she has never soiled her crate. She just whimpers when she needs out to do her business at 4 a.m. | |
