| My Yorkie likes cat food My Yorkie likes canned cat food, will it hurt him to eat it? I've only had him for a week & he already has me wrapped around his little paw. I knew they were cute, but boy, are they sweet as well. I would never give him up for anything. He's the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. He gets along really well with my cats. Of course he wants to eat the cat food right along with them. I just want to be sure that it won't harm him. I feed him Natural Choice for puppy's & he eats it as well. The previous owner said that the Vet told her to feed him puppy food for his first 2 yrs. Is that correct? I want to give him the best. He doesn't deserve anything but the best in life!! As a new Yorkie lover, I need any good advice that I can get. Thanks in advance for your help. Doris Brown |

| Sounds like your in love! I wouldn't give him any cat food...he'll get the runs...maybe worse. Remember, he is going to want to eat tons of things that aren't good for him, but you're the mamma. I've only ever heard or giving puppy food for the first year. You keep enjoying that baby! |

| Hi and welcome! Cat food is a no no. Stick to the Nutro and feed puppy for the first year minimum, you can switch to adult formula after that if you want to, or keep him on the puppy if he gets a lot of exercise. Show love with cuddles and petting, not food. True love means no table scraps and firm discipline to balance the adoration. |

| Hi! My little Zeus used to like to eat the cat food too. We thought it was ok, until he ended up with pancreatitis. The vet said that cat food has a lot of fat and protein, which is bad for yorkies due to their size. So, I would keep him away from it if you can.
