Donating YT 10K Club Member | As long as you don't see green goopy stuff...yes, it's quite normal. Some dog's eye "boogers" are worse than other. You need to clean it out every day...

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | its a typical thing for a lot of yorkies. The goopy stuff comes from excessive tearing. The tearing can be caused from too small/clogged tear ducts, hair in the eyes, or eye lids that roll in. There are some products on the market to help clean the area and get rid of the stains, and there are some home remedies as well. most of us use some sort of product please clean their faces once or twice a day to minimize on the goopiness

| My yorkie has always had runny eyes. The vet said her tear ducts are probably small. He checked for eye infection and she was fine. I constantly have to keep the corners of her eyes cleaned with a wet cotton ball. If not the gunk builds up and dries and is awful. I would ask your vet, and make sure the gunk isn't yellow or green. That would mean an eye infection.
