| What do I need to do to make sure Bella's ears stand? She's 8 weeks old. Can I ask you what I can do to make sure Bella's ears stand up? She will be 8 weeks old tomorrow (4/23). This is my first Yorkie and I've heard people getting them shaved 1/3rd of the way from the top and then taping them. I didn't know if I should try this or if they stand up on their own. Thanks so much!!

| Yep, both those things you mentioned would help. I just let Jackson's do whatever but when I took him for his first grooming at 4 months, they trimmed his ears and that's when they started standing up.

| The avatar of Apple is when she was 11 weeks old, and her ears weren't up....I think about 2 weeks later, they were totally up...I'd just give it some time...If you can have someone do the clip on her ears, half way down, that might speed up the process...I think that's what I did, but my "rememory" isn't as good as it used to be lolol...I sure wouldn't tape them, before you gave it a couple of months, but I'm such a newbie to this whole yorkie thing, and if it's real important to you, I'd get some opinions from the experts.... | I have 3 Yorkies so when I put tape on Lucy's ears at about 12 wks, the others thought it was something to play withand tore it off. I didn't do that anymore, she is now 6 months old, and they stand up perfectly. I say just give it more time, she was around 4 or 5 months before they finally stood on their own. |

| I got one for a cousin, and I just sat and stroked them in the up position, and the little baby started holding them up. It only took like 3 days, it felt good to her, and it felt good to me too.

| You need to shave them all the way down and then tape them. Don't take a chance of them coming up on their own. Go to Jon-An Yorkshire Terriers, she has a great illustration. I start shaving ears at age 1 week and taping at 8 weeks of age.
