| What would you do????????????? I will try not to make this too long. A lady contacted be almost 4 weeks ago wanted to buy the last puppy in the litter. She is from out of state and I sent her pictures and she agreed with the price told me she wanted the puppy but, she also told me she was sending a cashiers check for the entire amount of $800 instead of just a $100 deposit. Which was fine by me. We exchanged emails and I thought I got to know her pretty well. She told me she wanted to get him for her girls they are in grade school so they are not real young. The problem is she has been telling me for over 2 weeks that she has sent the cashiers check in the mail. I have yet to receive it. I told her she should have at least sent it priority mail instead of regular mail or she could have paid me on pickup. I didn't think I was being that unreasonable. Anyway to make a long story short. I haven't heard from her in a week. I got an email from her last Friday or Saturday telling me again that it should be here in the mail this week. The mail has alreay ran today. Guess what? Nothing. I immediately sent her another email telling her that I needed to hear from her and that if I didn't hear from her or got the cashiers check in the mail by Wed. that I was going to start advertising him again and it would be first come first serve. She lives in KY but has a nephew that lives in Montgomery, AL that she is also sending money to to deliver him for her. She said that he is a vet. I haven't heard from him either. So I told her to please let me know if she had either changed her mind or found another puppy. That it didn't matter to me one way or the other. I was just wondering what would you do. I may even if I get her Cashiers Check just send it back to her anyway and try to find a new home for him. For whatever reason I being strung alone. You would think that she was the one selling the puppy and I were the buyer. Suggestions? Thanks for listening. Sorry it's so long. I will keep everyone posted if I hear from her about what I decide to do.

| Two weeks is plenty of time to wait for payment as promised. And sending $800, she really should have used Priority Mail or UPS or Fedex. I personally would advertise the puppy again, as she hasn't responded in over a week. If you receive the cashier's check while the puppy is still for sale, I would still let her have the puppy assuming she responds to you AND the check is good and legit. Sorry to hear about your situation, hope you find a good home for your puppy soon. |

| Do you have a paypal account? It is the easiest way to get your money and easy to set up. When I have a litter of Danes to sell I have them pay through Paypal. I accept credit cards but if they pay using one you need to add 3% to the total so you get all your money. If you do just cash through Paypal they dont take any from it and you get it all. YOu just have to remember to transfer the moeny from Paypal to your own account at your bank. It is easier than it sounds....Also I gave them 3-4 days to get the deposit to me unless they discused it before hand on when they could pay it, and then they had to be fully paid 1 week before I would ship and that is including shipping fees... | I think this is a scam. There is a member of this forum who was contacted by a woman who was sending a cashier's check or money order for the deposit; then to pay the full price for the puppy then an additional amt so that the owner would cash the check or M.O. and send the additional money to a person in NY who is in charge of dealing with parcels for the buyer. The person buying the puppy was deaf from some accident in the military (I think) and the contactor was an operator who was dealing with the breeder because the buyer could not hear. The whole thing was a crock and was turned over to local law enforcement agencies both in the sender's town and the puppy owner's town. There is so much scamming going on and this sounds like the classic scam case.... |

| I have never had a problem with Paypal, and I had thousands of dollors per Dane on just one pup or when I had stuff on ebay that I have sold or bought. Its up to you and what your choice is. Guess I have just been lucky when it comes to paypal then. I also know others who hasnt had any problems with it. YOU NEVER SHIP TILL YOU HAVE YOUR FULL PAYMENT TRANSFERED TO YOUR OWN BANK ACCOUNT!! |

| When I was getting Coco I sent a cashiers check from the post office so it was insured. I didn't send it priority but ahd $1200 got to OK from CA in 3 days and I always had a tracking number to tell the breeder where the check was exactly. I took all precautions not only to save my rear but to ensure the breeder that I really cared and wanted my little girl. She was comforted by that and trusted me more because of it. I believe that this won't be a good house for your baby boy. If she REALLLLY wanted him, she would have covered all avenues and would have been able to tell you where the check is exactly.

If she were just sending a deposit I told her the rest would be due at pickup either by cash, money order or cashiers check. No personal checks. So there was going to be no chance of anything like that happening. Thanks everyone for your input. I'm going to go ahead and place another ad on puppyfind.com and in our local paper. Thanks again.

| Well I am always scetching when people mention cashiers checks to me (i was caught in the middle of one of those Nigerian scams a year back when I was selling a car...lucky for me I was smart enough to keep the $ befoer I sent it offf wich game me time for the bank to tell me it was a fake) anyhow off subject but I woould think that they would beable to pay Paypal or send it via UPS or FedEx (I mean if I was sening $ I would want some sort of delivery receipt. I think that it has been plenty of time and you have made sent several emails etc. I would say advertise again and selll them to another pesoon...if fr some chance you do get it in the mail between now and then just send it back to her wiht a later stating why and send it Fed Ex :P or something where she has to sign for it...other wise she could turn it into a "I never got my dog and she ran with my $ etc"...im just not very trusting |

| Even if she sent it bulk mail, which is the slowest way you can mail something, you still should have had it in 10 days. If I were her I would have been concerned and calling YOU everyday to see if you received it. |
