| Just a little vent! It's silly, but my DH keeps telling me I am "dwelling on it" too much. Lol. So I figured I would vent my frustrations to you guys!! This weekend, two people asked me if Maddy was a Shih-Tzu. This drove me CRAZY!!!! People ask me all the time what breed she is. I think she looks like a yorkie!!! I know she is 7 lbs and like a mile long (hehe) but I think its apparent she is a yorkie. When I tell people she is a yorkie, they ALWAYS ask if she is a full breed yorkie! Grrrr. She is bigger than what people usually imagine yorkies and floppy eared, but she is still one!!! Thanks for letting me vent!! |

| I think it is probably the floppy ears that make them ask. They are just used to seeing yorkies with the perky ears standing erect. If you wanted them to stand you might still be able to by shaving the top triangle of each ear, and thinning some of the weight off the rest of the hair on the ear. That alone sometimes will let the ears come up. I have never had to tape them, but there are instructions on here in one of the stickies for that. If you just prefer the floppy ears, then that's okay too. But people will probably continue to ask. Sorry..... but I think Maddy is adorable!

| floppy ears hey, if you like floppy ears, dont worry anything about other people! that is what it is, the ears. i could see people maybe not knowing if boy or girl, but i dont think she looks like a shih tzu at all. when my girl shih tzu was alive, she was a real showy looking one in full coat-- people used to tell me i looked like my shih tzu--hair tossled on head-ha!! i thought she was gorgous, so i was thrilled-ha! hey, my hair prob had 3 colors in it too-ha!! now my boy shih tzu, he is pet store shih tzu, that they was gonna put to sleep at 3 months old for too small nose passage, --well, we got him fixed up by our vet, and he is now 13, and as daddy says--"the bestest boy!" but anyways, he has that shih tzu look that looks like a lhasa, and i used to get dopes asking us if he was pekinese!! yeah, i got insulted-ha!!! like, you could take out your girl yorkies all done up, and adult will say--is it a girl?, but the children will know right away. it is the grow ups that are daffy-ha!! rose |

| They obviously don't know the breed well...she looks completly Yorkie!! I have a floppy eared girl too....I think it's adorable!! Not sure if you can get her ears to stand up after she's fully grown...I've heard you can only do that while they are still young... But I wouldn't let it bother you...there will ALWAYS be someone....SOMEWHERE that will say something offensive...you just have to let it go....it's not worth letting it ruin ONE second of your day!!

| Aw, she is SOO cute! She sort-of looks like Baxter in the face... he has the floppy ears and the brown in his face and ears. I think she is so adorable though! ...and how can someone think she looks like a Shih Tzu?! I don't see that at all... Lol.

Do not let it bother you, because they are the ones at fault here. Not you. Just either laugh at them, or shrug your shoulders, and walk away. I think your yorkie is a cutie

| Maddie is simply adorable! Please don't let these silly people annoy you! I am so sorry that you have had to deal with such aggravating comments. Believe me, I have had to deal with a few myself. Bottom line, you have no control over the comments that others make. Some people "raise themselves by putting others down". And others may be asking out of of a sincere quest for knowledge. Little Maddy looks like an adorable Yorkie to me. I get the "teacup" question about Peppy all the time - and if I perceive that people are asking for knowledge I explain, if they are asking to be rude I tend to answer in kind. |

| I totally think the floppy ears suite her. She looks very feminine. I can't believe that anyone would think that she wasn't a Yorkie

| Awe...your Maddy looks like all Yorkie to me. I have 2 Shih Tzu's plus my Yorkie, Rudy and Maddy doesn't look at all like a Shih Tzu to me. 7 lbs would be very tiny for a Shih Tzu. I think they average anywhere from 9 lbs up to 20 some lbs. Take Care...you & your precious YORKIE, Maddy. Oh, BTW, I'll take one of those mocha latte valium's to go that you have in your signature. That is just too funny but true!!!
