| I think the type of coat is a personal preference. The shorter cuts are easier to maintain, but the long coats are breed standard. The long coats are pretty, they just take a lot of work. (However, I do not have my yorkie yet- this is just what I have read!) As for Petco... Wasnt there a scary story on here about Petco grooming? I couldnt find it but I am sure someone remembers. I dont know tho it could have been Petsmart... |

| I would recommend a puppy cut. I used to work as a grooming assistant with a great vet in an animal hospital, and to be honest, I do not really like the groomers at petco or petsmart- in delaware i have seen some pretty bad things there, and being a grooming assistant for almost 3 yrs, you sorta know what is right and what is wrong. i would see if you can call an animal hospital/boarding place and see if they have groomers there. GOod luck.

| I prefer the short puppy cut but that's just because it's easier. Plus I think he looks more "manly" with the short cut lol! But there's so many different cuts. Just google "yorkie hair cuts" and you will see a ton. As for Petco, I wouldn't trust them!

| I keep my baby in a long flowy coat. She looks soo pretty and as long as your yorkie is the silky coat type it's not hard to maintain at all. |

Monica, There are several clips that look really cute on Yorkies. Search the internet for pictures and I'm sure you will find some you like. If you can print the picture out and take it with you to the groomer. Just remember that your Yorkie is still young and the 1st couple clips might not look just like the pics. Its like giving a young child its first haircut... LOL.. always fun! As for groomers, checkout this website (I hope its ok to list the website here, if not I'm sorry and didnt know!!) findagroomer.com There you will find many, many, many groomers! Good Luck with your puppy! Elizabeth | |
