I think it depends on the dog. Missy is an angel and a joy to have around every moment of the day/night. I'm being completely honest. I have had and known other dogs that aren't as well behaved though.

Dogs, puppies in particular are a major responsibility...they require a lot of love, patience and understanding...a dog is not a quick decision...its a long term commitment and becomes a family member instantly...Puppies should be taken seriously...if you're afraid of accidents and bed sleeping...you're not ready... I love Daisy to pieces...she has accidents and she sleeps on my head! But I wouldnt want it any other way...

I've grown up with dogs, so it is not an option for me... I have to have a dog Couver is well behaved, and he sleeps with me. I know that a lot of people here don't think that is good, but he is part of the family, and it is what I want

I don't really know what you are asking... but I am sure once you find your puppy, you will feel the same way!

My dogs have changed my life for the better. You get out of them what you put into them.

I used to think I was a "cat person" I got my first dog in Feb 2008....and I am totally a slave to my precious fur baby. She is pee pad trained and so well behaved...never barks...She has her bed on the floor next to my bed and stairs to get up on the bed..so she sleeps where ever SHE chooses! lol When people meet my KiKi and spend time with her...they all want to go out and get a Yorkie right away...I don't know if they are all like mine...but I wouldnt trade her for a Million $$!!

I would tell them that I do what is best for my dogs and me. The washable pad are used for emergencies when the dog needs to go potty at night, when I am working, or bad weather. My dogs love to cuddle with their owner at night. If the people ask rudely, then I would give no explanation besides that I do what is best for my dogs and me.

I was EXACTLY one of those people who said I'd never, ever have an inside dog- too much trouble to have to take a dog in and out all the time. But Lily is absolutely, without a doubt one of the best decisions I've ever made. It was really hard in the beginning when I realized that I'd probably never sit in one spot ever again (for having to get up and let her out or get something from her that she wasn't supposed to have, etc.), but now that she's a year old it's 4+ hours between potty breaks and she's really pretty easy. Definitely worth it.

I'm just... a dog person. I have loved dogs since I was 3 years old when I BEGGED my parents for a dog. They, knowing I was too young for the responsibility, decided against it at first. But my dad's a big animal lover himself, broke down, and bought me a Golden Retriever pup for my 4th birthday. Daisy ended up being my dad's baby rather than mine but she was the family dog. She lived to be almost 12 years old. When I turned 9 years old, we added Sadie, an 8 week old German Shepherd into the bunch.... she was a big trouble maker but it was our fault, we never trained her properly. She bit a worker that came to our house and had to be put down. Hardest day EVER, we were devastated. She was only 3 years old. My aunt has always been a huge dog lover and owned dogs, my grandma owned a Lphaso Apso with me growing up, and now has a Lab. I just can't imagine a house without them.

Those first few months of owning a puppy can sometimes make your doubt your decision to buy a dog. But I swear, if trained properly etc, after a few months, it's ALL worth it. Jackson is an awesome companion and so smart. He's so much fun and easy to train. Potty training took a little more time but he is now 6 months and 98% potty trained. It was worth it. I love him so much.

ANYWAYS.... I've grown up around dogs and can't imagine a house without them. I've been around very annoying dogs and very pleasant, awesome dogs. So it all depends on how you see it. I think having a dog reminds you of the simplicity of life and what really matters. They're always going to be your friend, they're always going to "listen" to your problems, they will always forgive you, and they will always give you love. Nothing beats the love of a dog! Walking into a house and having a greeting of such pure joy is an awesome feeling.

Default Living w/ a dog...Really how is it?

Why should it matter what other people think about you living with a dog? Most folks, i.e., those with a kind disposition, will realize that its a lot of fun and offers unconditional love and companionship (along with responsibility and variable expenses). Our yorkies sleep on our bed, usually apart from each other and always in the middle so they cannot accidentally fall. They love the pack to be together, so don’t disappoint them and they will respond with the commensurate licking and snuggling. Its also fun to watch them prepare their sleeping area and get comfortable, very cute and I never get tired of it. And dont forget the doggy steps, its not good for them to jump off a bed.
