| Congrats on making Toby legal in your apartment! Hercules isn't legal in ours, and I have no plans on making him legal. I'm sure that sounds bad, but it's such a rip off to have to pay a deposit and then a monthly fee on top of that. I'm not doing it, unless we get caught. Then I'll claim we just got him. Another reason I don't want to pay the pet deposit and fee is because the policy in my apartment complex is that they replace the carpet every two years, no matter what - if there are pets in the apartment or not. And they replace the carpet every year if there are pets. This is assuming renters stay only a year I guess. Well our carpet was not new when we moved in. So that means that they will be replacing the carpet no matter what when we move. Therefore, why should I pay more to them when they are going to replace the carpet anyway?? I'm already paying way too much for an apartment anyway. Apartment living stinks!!

| Toby is legal I agree with you, evertime I get a new addition, they want to charge more. Besides paying the extra 50 a month for my animals, I have only lived here 6 months (as of March) and they have decided that they are going to raise my rent $105 a month. I cannot pay that, and I cannot afford to move again. What really makes me furious though is that half this complex is Section 8, these people pay $125 a month for an identical apt. We working people pay the rest through our taxes. Typical for these apartments is the young woman who is about 35 one child, girl aged 6. She sits around all day, says she cannot work, because she has severe arthritis. This woman just decided to move to the other side of me, cause that apt has a nicer patio area, and she moved every stick of furniture, boxes, refrigerator, couches, chest of drawers herself o help whatsoever, no arthritis then was there? She went and purchased a brand new 32 inch flat screen tv and moved that in herself and to top it off just bought a 4 year old BMW. You want to get angry walk through this complex a few days after SSI checks come, by the dumpsters all you see are empty boxes from tvs, dvd players, steam cleaners, new stereos, computers etc. it is very frustrating as I have raised four children by myself without a dime of child support or government help, and these folks who can physically work (they work out, swim and jog and they can sit on acomputer to play games all day) but cannot work at something, to have things that I cannot afford even though I have worked for over 40 years fulltime. My apt is going to be costing me $1,040 a month for a one bedroom, they will still be payng $125 amonth. This same woman signed up with 3 charities at Xmas and as adopted by two companies. It was like FAO Schwartz at her house on Christmas, that little girl got everything and anything that was a duplicate the mother posted a sign in the laundry room and SOLD. I have never lived in acomplex with more BMWs, Mercedes, restord classic cars worth lots, acuras, etc. I drive an 8 year old toyota I still am making payments on. |

| bld2751.......i agree with you completely and i was going to do the same thing...... but then we found out that they are handing out eviction notices left and right.....i wish it was only the $500 pet deoposit though..... the $35 doesnt go towards ANYTHING... there is no dog park, there is no baggies ourtisde to pick up doggie poop (as if i wuold.....lol.... i dont want toby mixing with that riff raff ) millecoralles...... i totally understand your pain, right now our apt is government subsidized so we only have to pay 945 (well.... 980 now).. BUT there are people that live near my parents in low income houseing like yours and drive expensive cars....... what you have to keep in mind though is that ANYONE can get a loan of ANYTHING (but it doesnt necessarily mean that they are going to make payments..... ) as many cars as i see.... i see them trying to hide them as well so they dont get repoed..... adn the same thing goes for credit cards, they can get those easily too, adn who says they make the payment on that???.... you have to weigh out the good and the bad...... and as much bad as there is in this world..... i sincerely hope that there is just as much good in it (so far i have seen very little, but it has to be out there somewhere right?) as it is i am happy i am not being evicted... and i am also just as happy that i nwo have the right to wlak ttoby out to the car ..... or take him on walks at all |
