| Territorial Yorkie! Hi everyone! New member here with a question I have had for a long time: how do multiple yorkies in one household get along? My Jasper (going on 11) is very territorial. When he came in as a pup, we had two other dogs - a Norfolk terrier pup and a nine year old English bulldog. Jasper came in and from day one was "the alpha dog". No matter that he was a lot lot smaller than the other two (especially the English bulldog)! Since Yorkies seem to all want to "rule the roost" how do people have multiple Yorkies? Don't they all want to rule the roost at the same time? Love to hear about this from you multiple Yorkie owners. Thanks, Garcy |

| I have 3 and my littlest one is the boss around here. Coco my oldest is a male and he is sooo submissive. He really is a great little guy. Trixie my youngest is a big girlie, about 10-11 pounds and My little Pebbles (4lbs) just runs the show around here. They all get along well. I was nervous when they play because Trix is so much bigger than Peb, but Peb is right in there defending herself. Coco walks away with a look like, "uhhh girls" rollie eyes. Haha He doesn't want to get involved. Mine are all still young though and they have been together for a while so maybe that's why they get along so well. I don't know about having an older dog and then a younger one, what will happen.

| A new puppy Right now I am trying to find a responsible breeder for shih tzus. After my Norfolk and my Shih Tzu passed away within 4 days of each other last May, it felt as if my heart had been ripped out of my chest. They all pretty much got along great and then boom, 2/3 of my family gone at once! I don't think I would have gotten through it except for my Yorkie, Jasper (who is the roost ruler and always was). When my daughter brings her shih tzu over, he is happy to see him and they have fun together, so I want very much to get another shih tzu, but Ohio has a lot of bad breeders, puppy mills, pet stores, etc. I am expanding my search to include West Va. Pennsylvania and Michigan in hopes of finding a responsible breeder. Consumes a lot of time. None of the responsible breeders in Ohio seem to have any puppies available in June and/or have very long waiting lists. Gonna keep trying though. Garcy |
