| Strange Behavior I just read this other thread about a Yorkie hating her groomer and wanted to share this episode with you all. I take Walker to my part time work at a Car Dealership. Customers and Staff just love him, always stopping by to pet the cute little dog! And Walker loves the attention. Until last week we had a family come in with 2 teenage daughters. Walker backed away from them and started to shake. He got so upset, that he tried to hide behind my computer monitor, jumped on my lap and kept looking at me and then the girls. He was totally beside himself and even after they walked away, he would sit on my desk and shake like a leaf. They did everything right: let him sniff their hands, weren't pushy, talked to him. Nothing helped. He just didn't like them for whatever reason, though he never growled at them. I was just perplexed. Has anything like this ever happened to any of you?

| Yes, once in awhile Daisy and Teddy will run into a person that they just don't like. They act just like that. I don't know why either.

| My yorkie has never done that but my cat has. My cat Zoey has never ever hissed at anyone in her life. One day I had a "so-called friend over and Zoey my cat hissed at her and ran away. My cat is very social around people, she always wants to be the center of attention so this definitely was strange behavior coming from her. It wasn't until later that I found out that this "friend" had some sociopathic traits. She was pathological liar who was extremely manipulative and lived a parasitic lifestyle. In fact, I was even a little scared of her. To this day, I avoid her like a plague. Interestingly she had a yorkie who was very taken care of most of the time. Whenever my cat hisses at anyone in the future, I will definitely pay attention. I think she knew this person was not a very good person and everytime this person came over my house, Zoey avoided her. Zoey knew something was evil about her. |

I agree! I think they really do have a sense about those things. Normally Silvia wags her little tail and stretches out of my arms to try and sniff them. The only time she ever acts scared like that is around young kids, I think because they tend to be rough with her and she's so tiny that it scares her. I guess you'll never really know about that particular family, but maybe they have done something to hurt animals and you're baby picked up on it. I say steer clear!
