| Just Saying Hello I'd like to say Hello ... since I've been reading all the posts for a bit ... hope that doesn't make ya feel spyed on, LOL. I had decided to add a yorkie to our family and wanted to know as much about the breed as I could so I joined yorkietalk and learned. Thank you all. I am happy to say Leo now owns me ... LOL. I say that because when I walked into the house with all the pups and the other yorkies wondering everywhere his mommy came to me and loved on me a minute then ran to him and brought him to me and he decided I was his. I know that I read that yorkies shouldn't leave their moms til they are around 12 weeks. He is only 8 weeks I do have a 3 year old female sheltie that is loving and gentle and she is dealing very well with him. Will that be enough of doggy interaction? I plan on obedience classes as soon as his shots are completed. I want to be the best Momma I can be ... any advice would be welcomed |

| Congratulations and welcome!! I love your story of how he and his momma picked you out! I don't know much about puppies that young. Just take him to the vet as soon as you can for a checkup and I'm sure he'll do fine. Can't wait to see pics!

| Welcome to YT. Congratulations on your new baby. Sad to say but most of the breeders here in KY do let their pups go at 6-8 weeks. When people call they can't undertand why I keep mine until 12 weeks. That being said, you will have to watch your little one for signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia and make sure he is eating enough. |

| Welcome Welcome and congratulations on your new baby. I think it's so cute that the mom brought the puppy over to you. I also got my yorkie at 8 weeks, she was a tiny little thing but she did very well. At the time I also had a Lhasa poo and the little yorkie tormented her from day one. At 8 weeks she decided she was going to be the boss. it was hilarious! They became good friends. |
