| I want my do to have puppies My Lexy is 5 months old and I am considering to let her have puppies once. I would like to know how old she has to be and if there is anyone out there in Suffolk County Long Island (Port Jefferson or vacinity area) that is willing to stud there dog. Lexy is around 10 pounds now. Her Mom is 16 pounds and her Dad is 5 pounds. I would like a 4 to 5 pound male. Please let me know if anyone could help me out. | Sandra, please reconsider. Lexi is a cute pet but far over the breed standard of 7lbs. The odds of her producing a very large pup are high due to the extraordinary size of her dam and many times large pups require C-sections for delivery which poses a huge health risk for your girl. I won't even begin to list all the other common problems that you may end up dealing with. For her sake, just find a good breeder to get another pup from if your goal here is to have more yorkies in the house. |

| I know that you would love for her to have pups of her own, but like the previous two replys, I also think that you should reconsider. She is not the breed standard and that's what a good breeder looks for. Not to mention the health risks that she may experience. She is 10 lbs at 5 months, which is alot and she still may grow some more. Which means that her pups will most likely be large as well. I don't think that you will get that 5lb male that you have your heart on. Sorry, I don't mean to burst your bubble. Just trying to be honest.
