| Yes, it's normal. It means her coat is lightening up. My Max's started when he was 3 months old. BTW she is a cutie!!!

| Both of my babies did the same thing. It kinda looks like they're going bald... This is just a transition to their adult colors. No need to worry!

YT Addict | just asking did the breeder that you got her from not tell you that they change hair color when they get older??? I have seen many ads lately where breeders is saying they have black and gold babies, and say this at 3 and 4 week old. You can tell at that age!!!! They are getting more money for the black and golds. |

| My Kingston has white hair growing out on the top of his head as well. He's less than 4 months old. I like the look. He's got a black and gold coat.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey around 4 months. Joey at about 15 months Joey at two years. His hair seem to go from white to beige overnight, and it continues to get darker all the time.

My furkids Donating Member | I have never heard of yorkies being more expensive being gold and black When I got my first yorkie (Sadie) I saw her when she was 5 weeks old...she looked exactly like an extremely small rottie!! funny thing was...this breeder also bred Rotties!! She never change color...as you can see in my avatar she stayed black and gold. When I got Lillie (same breeder...different parents) she was very fluffy and was black/silver mingled...she ended up being silver and tan. I actually paid 300.00 more for Lillie than I did Sadie...it had nothing to do with the coloring. had to do with demand of the breed.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Thank you, for a while when he had white roots and black tips, he looked like a little old balding man, so we kept the hair on the head very short, I was so glad when the black was off, because at least he didn't look bald anymore. It's amazing how much they change. Since then I've seen pictues of the hair in a topknot with the black tips and the white roots, and it looks great, so I think I would do this next time, instead of keeping it so short. I love the topknots.

♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Excerpts from The Complete Yorkshire Terrier by Joan Gordon A puppy of around four months, that has changed the color on its head from black to gray to a very pale sooty color, will as an adult enrich all the tan areas to a clear golden tan. The blue will follow the correct manner of transition from black to blue starting to do so around six months. The coat texture will be the correct silky type.
