♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | yorkie v staff advice I really need some advice here. Dont want to offend anyone but a friend I havnt seen for a while has asked to meet up and walk our dogs together, only she has a 9mth staffordshire bull terrier. I heard they could be vicious(this is the part I dont want to offend anyone) should I go? My furbaby is also 9 mth but she is a tiny 5 lb. Has anyones furbaby got a good relationship with this breed of dog?

| I think that as long as both dogs are leashed, well-behaved and under control there is no reason not to. But I would be walking between them so that the other dog couldn't reach yours. If you start to get nervous, just pick your baby up for awhile.

| Twinkle has an excellent relationship with my brother-in-law's two staffs. They are ages 8 and 5, a boy and a girl. Both have been very well-socialised with other dogs of all sizes and have never shown agression to another dog or a person. I think it comes down to the individual dog rather than the breed as a whole. Having said that Twinkle is bigger than your little one, which would probably be my main concern......but as both your yorkie and the staff are pups I think they'll be fine together, with constant supervision xxx xxx

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i wouldn't worry so much about it. Go and have fun. As long as both dogs are leashed they should be fine. Just don't let them play off leash together. the staff is still a baby too and will probably just want to play

| I would definitely go! This is an excellent opportunity to help socialize both dogs, your little one to one much bigger, as well as the bigger one to a tiny one. It will probably do good for both of them since they are so young. I would just make sure to keep a very close eye and leash on them. I wouldn't trust them actually playing together until they had been around each other several times and were used to each other.

| yeah go have fun!! Most of peanuts play mates are big dogs!! My dh's sister has 2 pit bulls..and when her and her hubby come spend the night....their dogs to do!! At first I just watched them like A HAWK and they all get along great..they are really sweet with peanut but then again they were brought up very well and they are very sweet mannered dogs. But they are still 120lbs heavier than peanut and I still am right by peanut when they are around, they are never alone together I never go agaisnt the breed, I think its all how the people bring them up!!!

| My yorkie is 8lbs and gets along well with my parents' two staffies and labrador. He prefers the female staffie. When I got him, it was just the female staffie and labrador, but now they have a young male (not even a year old) and Cash gets a bit aggro when he is around. The young boy, Magnum, thinks Cash is the most interesting thing on four legs and follows him everywhere. I don't let them play alone since they have had a few scuffles (I got myself bitten by breaking them up). But Magnum is still young and a bit too dominant for Cash's taste. It all depends on the temperament of the dogs. My parents have always had staffies and I grew up with one that bit my younger brother and viciously attacked other dogs (even our other dogs), but now they have the sweetest girl. Staffies can be really vicious, so just be careful and stop the play whenever it gets too rough. Give them a time-out when it gets too rough. They will quickly learn what the correct way of playing is. Sorry for the long post. Good luck.
