| Need advice to introducing a new pup Hi everyone. This is my first time on yorkie talk. I have a two year old yorkie name Tyke. We are going to look at two puppies tomorrow. A eight and ten month old boys. Tyke is used to being around my mother's dog, a black lab, but at times is protective or aggressive when it comes to food. Also he is very protective of us as well as family when a strange dog is around. We really want to bring home a puppy so he has company, because we can really tell he is happier when around my mom's dog. Does anyone have advice for introducing a new puppy into a house where a dog already lives. I am afraid Tyke might be protective of us, but at the same time believe they will get along. Also, anyone know anything about them "marking" their territory? We don't have problems at our house accept for a "true" accident...but when at my mom's house he likes to mark where the girl dog lays. |
