| Scared The P### Out Of Me........... ............literally. I was coming in the front door and Murfee ran out as fast as he could....straight for Abigail (my donkey) This fat, old lady with bad knees was running and yelling for him to stop. He ran under the fence and Abby ran along the fence and hit Murfee with her hoof. He fell over and was screaming. She ran back over him. He was still screaming but managed to pull himself out of the fence. When I got to him he was laying on his side and whimpering. By this time Richard was running out the door. I just picked up Murfee and Richard and I jumped in the car. When we got to the vet, she was standing in the hall and took us immediately. She took xrays and checked him over really good. It seems he is just bruised and will be very sore for several days. She gave him pain meds and anti inflamatory meds. He is hiding in his "safe" place behind the toilet and won't come lay with me. Since I had to change my clothes I am in my pj's and I really want him to come lay with me!!!!! God answered prayers 'cause there sure were lots of them coming from Krum this afternoon.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Gosh I would have died. Thank god he is ok. Guess he won't be trying to run up on any Donkey's anymore. These little guys are so hard headed. Again girl I am so happy that all is ok. Hopefully he comes out and lays with you.

| oh dear this scared me reading your post . I am thankful Murfee is going to be ok. Our little ones are so fast and can get into trouble quickly. Hopfully he will come out and lay down with you. He needs to be close to you.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Gosh Patty, I can imagine the horror you were feeling!!!! I am so very glad to hear that he will be okay. I know how you must feel in wanting him to come lay with you; you probably need some comfort now just as much as he does. Hugs to you and prayers that Murfee will be feeling better real soon.

| Patty, I am so glad to hear that Murfee is ok. What a huge scare. I know that generally speaking, donkeys don't like dogs. Could you tell if she was "out to hurt him" or was it just an accident? Maybe you can take a blankey and go lay down in the br with Murfee Sending lots of and I'll keep you in my . I hope Murfee doesn't wind up with any long term emotional stress over this incident - same for you, Frister! Last edited by chattiesmom; 03-30-2009 at 03:30 PM. |
