| How long before they make friend? It's been two weeks since I picked up my new little girl. I thought for sure they'd be friends by now. She certainly wants to be, but he still doesn't want much to do with her. He plays for her for about 10 minutes in the course of the whole day and I invariably end up stopping it when he becomes very aggressive and she starts cowering and hiding under the furniture. She's doing okay, but every time she has too much fun playing by herself he attacks her. I don't like seeing her have to play with one eye looking out for attacks. It's like he's reminding her not to make herself too comfortable here. What do I do? |

| Sometimes it takes longer time to get them used . I have 2 adult Yorkies and a baby Pom and from time to time the Yorkies don't want to know nothing about the Pom . Other times the girls goes in the little bed and sleeps with her |

| I don't know how long it takes one to accept another. That is so sad though that she has to keep an eye out while playing. I really hope he takes to her soon though.

| Oh I know it's sad. Everyone tells me I have to leave them alone so they can work things out themselves, but I just want to cry when I see her having to use caution even when she is entertaining herself. I guess I thought they would make friends more quickly since he is 7 and 1/2 months and she is only 4 months. She is certainly making all the overtures for being friends, but mostly he is rejecting them. Other than that he is the sweetest, most loving little guy you could ask for. |

| I have 3 other dogs and each took a different amount of time to accept Indy. My German Shepherd was scared to death at first, after about 2 weeks he started playing a little, now 4 months later they are the best of friends. My Golden is very elderly so she just wants to be left alone, I actually have to make her off limits to Indy because he is too rough with her. My Jack Russell Terrier is the wild card. She made it pretty clear at first that he was the intruder and she went after him alot. It took constant supervision with the 2 of them and it took about 2 months for her to not snap at Indy all the time. Now she will initiate play and it's OK until he gets a little rough, then she will go after him. I still supervise the 2 of them because I don't trust her, but for the most part she's better with Indy. |

| It sometimes takes a little longer for them to accept each other. Dont try to force it but just keep letting them casually get to know each other.

| I got Denero 4 weeks ago Friday....this past weekend, Thursday really, something just snapped...they seem to get along better, they will lay in the same bed together now but they play HARD. They are 5 months apart...3.5 and 1.5 pounds....Romeo gets too excited and overwhelms him sometimes. I think when Denero gets bigger he's going to kick Romeo's butt....I do remember at the 2 week mark I didn't think they were ever going to get along....give it some time....

| it was the snap situation here too. Literally from one minute to the next. we traveled 3 days after we picked up ahia and buckeye did not want her with us at all. the minute we steped into the house he became a different dog. it was almost like he was welcoming her into the house. Buckeye being 1/2 her size, I let him take control of her. sometimes he is the only one who came calm her down and make her behave. It is funny because sometimes all he has to do is give her "the look" and she cowers down to him.

| It just takes time. Let them work it out providing they are hurting each other. After two weeks mine have finally realized that Nugget is here to stay so may as well get to know her. I once had it take 8 months for two to get along. |

| 8 months! Yikes! I hope not. I convinced my husband to get the second because I told him they would be great playmates. I've had two Yorkies once before. When I brought the little girl home that time my Yorkie just assumed it was for him and never gave it a second though. This is just so different for me. |
