| First plane trip So Lucas will be taking his first plane trip with me on April 10 going to Vancouver for the weekend. Of course he will be in the cabin with me, and I am wondering what kind of soft sided bag I can get with dimensions no more than 16” L x 17.5” W x 8.5” H (40 cm x 44 cm x 21.5 cm) Apparently it has to be soft sided but I'm not really sure what one looks like or where to find one. Do they look like duffel bags? Also, what kind of other things should I be aware of when flying with Lucas? Anyone have experience? Thanks!!!!

| I am also planning for our first trip, so I do not have any experiences to contribute. However I did find a good (at least I think so) soft carrying bag - from Sherpa. You can look at their products on their website (google Sherpa) |

| Check out the "Traveling With Yorkies" section of the forums. There is lots of great info on airline-approved carriers, plus other considerations for flying with your doggy in-cabin. > Book pet reservation early (often around $100 per leg of flight) > To drug or not to drug? What kind of drugs? When to administer them? Risks? > Getting doggy comfortable with the carrier before the flight > Carriers that look like carriers, versus look like stylish handbags > Health certification required within X days of flight > Can you take doggy out of carrier at airport? I just bought the Sherpa Delta Deluxe based on recommendations in that forum. The mesh lining in the cheaper Sherpas has been reported to detach easily. Good luck and Happy Flying! |
