| Dog Bowl My yorkie is Rex he is almost 4 months. The first 3 months he did great eating out of his small metal dog bowl. Now for the last 2 weeks he will not eat his dog food out of anything but a paper plate... I have bought lots of bowls and he just turns his nose up at them... I don't know what his problem is. He would rather me pour the food on the floor directly but I am not going to do that. Any suggestions???? |

| My female would eat anything, anywhere, in anything. My male had some quirky phobia about eating from certain dishes. If you have tags or a bell on him that is clinking onto the dish, it might be the problem. When ours tipped his dish over onto himself, that would be it for that bowl/dish forever. He was frightened by certain bowls/dishes. You could always tell. He'd look at it like he was afraid. We ended up with some cheap thing from a dollar store that was a softer plastic, didnt make noise. It was two-sided and didn't tip. Good luck.

| Remy is 7 months and we initially had him eating out of a bowl, however he was very finicky about it and would never finish. We now put his food on a plate and he eats in no time. I don't think he liked putting his face "into" the bowl.... |

| This is interesting. I've used bowls, metal, ceramic, plastic and glass. Then I've used plates. I kinda thought that it seemed Hot Rod liked to eat off of plates better. He does eat out of bowls as this is what I mainly use. I'm going to test it and see if makes a difference.

| It's a Yorkie thing I suppose ... My Mike doesn't like eating out of his bowl either If he's hungry he'll push the puppy chow with his nose and then look at the side as if expecting it to be there and he'll start to cry if he doesn't see his brother eating next to him only then will he get the idea on how to eat out of a bowl!!! He also has issues with plates .... they scare him and he barks at cans Go figure
