| similar ear question... My yorkie will be 10 weeks on Sunday. Her ears are shaved but not perking up AT ALL. Does that mean there is a good chance they will never stand??? How old are they when they start to stand?? |

| did you just get him? have they ever been up? Puppies ears will tend to go up and down until they are done teething. |

| lol that's cute- well you can tape them- which will train them to stand up- but i've heard that even that doesn't always work. Try searching "ear taping" on here and see what you can find- I never did it with Layla but her ears were up and down daily until she lost all her teeth- something to do with calcium levels. |

| Here's a thread about taping the ears. There are a couple of video's showing how it's done. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...rs-not-up.html

| 10 weeks is still awfully young. Neither Gracie Ruth's or Yogi were up when I got them at 12 weeks of age. I just made sure the hair was trimmed off the tops. Yogi has a ton of hair and I'd actually shave nearly half of his ears. He's 7 months old and they will still tip over if I'm not vigilant with keeping them trimmed. 1) G at 12 weeks 2) Yogi at 12 weeks.

| Poor Hot Rod ears didn't stand up til he was about 8 mos old. He went around with completely shaved ears for several months and I would tape them for a couple of hours at a time only because I felt so bad when I looked at him. His ears literally stood up right after I took the picture in my avatar.
