| Daycare I am traumatized because Katy has been with me since we brought her home on January 12th. She suffers bad from separation anxiety. I had surgery in February so I really haven't been anywhere. I am a golfer and golf season starts next week which means I will need to leave her two mornings a week to play golf. I have found what I believe is a nice Daycare Center where she receives one-on-one attention. Please tell me she will be OK and it will not mess up her potting which is doing unbelievably well. I am soooo worried. She loves other dogs and I think she will enjoy playing with them, but she will truly miss me....

Thor's Human Donating Member | Hey, golfbooboo! Your name makes more sense to me now. Both Thor and I love his daycare. I was very stressed as well the first time I left him there, but it's good for him to get acquainted with other dogs, and not to be glued to my side. Glad to hear you're feeling better.

| Thanks. I need the encouragement. I told my husband at dinner I am probably the one with separation anxiety. I'll let you know how it goes. I think I am only going to leave her for about an hour the first time. I have a trainer that sits at my house when available but that is very very expensive.

| My girls both go to daycare every day during the week while we are at work. When it was just Rory, she had really bad separation anxiety, which is what started it all. It is now probably her favorite place on earth - she literally cries out in delight as we make the turn off the main road and approach. Lane, who was rescued in a puppymill bust, started daycare after we only had her for a week or two (returned to work from Christmas vacation). They were so good with her, and she really loves it there now too! You can see the joy on their faces (taken a few weeks ago at daycare): If anything, it actually HELPED with potty training! Rory was pad trained and after attending daycare would finally use the bathroom during a walk. After a few weeks of daycare we noticed Lane would do the same on a walk! Katy will do fabulously at daycare! You've checked it out, so you know she'll be safe there. I'll bet she has a blast socializing with all the other dogs, and she'll come home ready for a nice nap. Good luck!

Thor's Human Donating Member | When I dropped Thor off at daycare today, we crossed paths with a staff member who was talking the toy dogs out for a walk. Thor raced up to them, touched noses with everyone and hopped around a little bit. It was so nice to see him interacting with other dogs in a non-psychotic way. Then when I took him into the center itself, he almost pulled my arm off to get into the back room with the other doggies.
