| All of Jackson's tricks (video!) So, I finally took the video camera out while training/doing some tricks with Jackson at 5 months old. He's been doing so good and picks up on most things pretty fast! "Bang bang" took a while but he's finally doing it pretty consistently!! I absolutely hate hearing my own voice on camera, lol, but whatever. Here it is: YouTube - Jackson's Tricks @ 5 months old The tricks shown in this video are -Sit -Stay -Come -Down -Shake -High-Five -Play Dead "Bang Bang" -(Semi) roll over We're still working on getting him to roll ALL the way over! But he's getting there. Video quality isn't the greatest but the lighting was awful in the room.

| Jackson is so smart! I can't believe he can do all that at 5 months! My babies have got a LOT of work to do! GOOD JOB JACKSON! *high five* Any pointers on teaching tricks? I noticed that you were giving him lots of treats, what kind were they?

Aw thanks! As for pointers (I'm not good at explaining things!) but basically patience and practice! For "bang bang" (which took the longest- like 2 weeks ) I would say "bang bang" and do the gun motion and then with my other hand, sort of push him over. And most of the time he was very corpoerative with staying on his belly and then I would repeat the command and give him a treat. At first, it was tough because when I would say "Bang bang" he learned that I was going to push him over, so he would sort of jump away from me LOL. But after about a week, I guess he gave up and just let me push him over. The prob was getting him to fall over by himself. He finally just "got it" I guess and it clicked what he wanted me to do. Praised him like crazy! This sites got pretty good info in a fairly simple explanation- Dog Tricks! Shake, Crawl, Beg, Kiss, Roll Over, Bow, and more! As for treats, I gave him little bit pieces of cheese. He loved it!! Makes him really want to do more tricks! lol. I've used different dog treats and he gets really sick of them fast. So I resorted to using something else and cheese did the trick. He also loves cheerios and special K cereal. The DOG treat he always seemed to love is "101 Abudance" treats (I think that's what they're called)
