| Vent I am so tired of people even my family when we go to family functions with Callie because they think dressing her is stupid but I dont just dress her to dress her and look cute I dress her to keep her warm and in the summer when shes outside shes naked and if she starts panting and is hot I take her clothes off and yes I buy cute clothes but when she needs to wear they might as well be cute. It just makes me made when they dont even listen to me about her getting cold and I'm not gonna sit there and watch her shiver because she's cold and not do something to keep her warm. And they think I'm stupid because I dress my dog. And sometimes there responses hurt my feelings.

| Just do what you need to do. People don't understand that yorkies don't have an undercoat like most dogs do, so they will get cold like people do. Tell them it would be the same if they were in the cold without a coat.

| It's upsetting when strangers say things about our kids. But it's especially hurtful when it's family members. As I see it you have 2 choices. Grow a thicker skin and not give their remarks a second thought. Or say back to them, "Why do you continue to make these hurtful comments? I've explained she wears the clothes to keep warm & I like to see her looking cute. Yet you persist in being rude and hurtful to me. It may not be your choice but it's mine, and I would think as family that you would at the very least not continue to say these things for my sake. Have I done something that upset you, so that you feel the need to "get back at me"?" Usually when confronted-not attacked, people who say rude things are so taken aback they don't know how to respond. But if you respond in an upset way, they are getting what they want, attention and a feeling of superiority. And if you ignore it, they will take that as a sign of indifference and will continue with their childish game. I, for one, am tired of rude people and their feeling that they have the right to say whatever to whomever, whenever they want. I now stop and question them, "Why would you make such a rude comment to someone you don't even know?" It's usually enough to shut them up and perhaps if enough people start challenging them about their rude behavior they will start to think twice before opening their mouth. sigh, well I can at least hope, right?
