| Lazy Yorkies We are getting ready to go south for a couple weeks and will be leaving Kass with friends . Last weekend we got her a new pink harness so they can take her out on a leash to do her business. Tuesday night we get her all harnessed up and coax her out of the yard for a walk. After about 50 feet she fetched up and refused to go any futher, we ended up taking turns carrying her the rest of the way and back. Wednesday night she was doing her usual nag for nothing routine so my husband says want to go with daddy for a walk and since it was dad she followed him . Next thing I know she comes skidding around the corner and starts scratching at me to pick her up. I am wondering what has gotten into her as I see Gary following her pink harness in his hand. We both totally cracked up at how lazy she is when it isnt something she wants to do. Anyone else have a lazy yorkie?

| It's probably not really laziness (or maybe it is? lol) but maybe she doesn't like the feeling of the harness or something makes her not want to go forward. You say she doesn't usually go for walks? She's probably not used to someone controlling where she walks and goes and she doesn't like it, so she's being stubborn. I would try to lure her forward by holding a treat in front of her as you walk and see if that works. Reward her whenever she walks forward.

♥ Mama's Boy ♥ Donating Member | lol..that is to funny, when we leave the dog park we have to walk this long path back to the car and when Tobie is not ready to leave he walks a little ways and then just sits down and won't move an inch!

| Gus doesn't like to walk. For almost one year I carried him away from the house, because he wouldn't walk away from the house. He would walk back though. Now he's walking away & back, but I do get those occasional "aren't you going to carry me" looks. I'm not sure if he was lazy, spoiled, or cautious.

| I wish I have a lazy Yorkie so that I can be lazy a little...I have such a hardworking one that no matter how far we walk, he still has more energy to go. And when we near the house, he either leans towards the opposite side to where I am holding his leash or just brake with his four little legs spread out or he just pretends to be busy smelling the ground or keep looking backwards and won't budge...argh I have to deal with that every single day that I got lazy to coax him home sometimes, I just carry him and go home. And every morning, once I wake up, he is already waiting for me to bring him out....he won;t give you a chance to "forget" it.
