| Puppy don't eat I just bought this little yorkie yesterday. He's 11 weeks old. I think the breeder feed him chicken and other soft food. Now, I want him to eat dry food instead, but he doesn't even sniff at them. Any suggestions? |

| Hi and welcome! When I first got Carlee, my breeder told me to feed her what she had been feeding her and if I wanted to change, to slowly mix in more and more with her original food because having her eat something totally new would upset her stomach. Also, I read on here that someone sprinkles parmesan cheese on their pups food. It sure works for Carlee. Enjoy your new baby! I know I am!!

| You might try wetting the food until he gets used to it. I am supposing that you alread knew about the post above and that you have some of that brand of food. I hope you have a tube of Nutri-Cal also. Alot of times the Nutri-Cal will stimulate their appetites. Sylvia |

| Yes...I agree... the breeder should have instructed you on the eating habits of the baby and you should follow those until you make a gradual change so they don't get sick. The nutri-cal is important so the puppie's blood sugars stay level especially if it isn't eating because one missed meal can cause a hypoglycemic attack. I would mix the chicken and rice with the dried or try wetting the dried or mixing wet in. Good luck and keep us posted. |
