Donating YT 10K Club Member | I would introduce them through an x pen or use of a baby gate...until the older one is used to the younger's presence. I would also never leave them unsupervised together as older dogs do not like the antics of a puppy....with a larger dog...it could be a fatal result.

| I was invited to dinner a friend house that just got a male puppy yorkie, she allready had a golden female, she keept he little one on the playpen, I took my girls and I was kind of nervous but we keep the girls in the playpen she (the golden) was just watching them, after we got the girls and the little boy in the back yard but, she put the golden away, later I was able to get my girls out and eat with us I always keept the eagle eye on the golden and don't let her to get to close, the golden did so good, and I watch how she was so gentle with the little pup

The second step will be to walk them all together ( might need 2 people) It will help them to bond as a pack. Good luk | |

YT 2000 Club Member | When we brought Jasmine home 4 weeks ago, I too had the same concerns. Prissy is a small poodle, but could still hurt Jasmine if she was inclined to do so and Prissy has always been the only pet/person in our home. So, right when we got home we introduced Jasmine to Prissy. I always keep both of them with me, since I am retired, and make sure I give just as much attention to Prissy as I do to Jasmine so she doesn't get jealous. At first Prissy did not like Jasmine, but somewhere through the last 4 weeks, of me always keeping that "eagle eye" on them, they have become good play pals. Prissy is 7 years old and when she is tired she lets Jasmine know without a fight. They will always have their own separate crate for their down time, just like me, they need that too. Good luck!

| introductions I did some reading on this before i brought Cleo home b/c my big dogs are 40 and 100 pounds. If possible bring their scents to each other, a bed, blanket, etc. so that they can smell each one another. Then you can do the pen or crate thing. When they do meet face to face stand close and be vigilent. There may be a growl or two but ignore it until you feel it is too much and seprate them without scolding. One of the most important things i read was not to lift the little dog up for the bigger one to sniff because the one who has a higher head is the one charge. Good luck, let us know how it goes!
