| Dog Parks! Now that spring has sprung I took Lola to the dog park for the first time since she was a puppy. I was so proud of her except she is sooooo submissive! Every time another dog would come over to her she would lay on her back and let them sniff her, then run back to me. How can I get her to be a little more outgoing with other dogs at the park? |

Thor's Human Donating Member | Hi! I am working on this with Thor. He wasn't around many dogs during his formative years, so his doggy manners aren't that good. He usually begins by barking his head off when he sees a dog and then he cowers, submits, and hides behind me. The most effective thing for me so far has been taking him to doggy daycare. I still make an effort to take him to parks and let him meet other dogs, but every time he goes I can see his confidence increase a notch.

| We looovvveee the dog park around here! I can't even say it without three little tails wagging full speed. When we first took Franklin, he was extremely shy and wouldn't do anything but stay at my feet. We just went as often as we could and now he LOVES to play chase and run around with the other dogs. My advice is to keep bringing her there and eventually she will come out of her shell! It's so important for dogs to get social interaction... give it time and I'm sure she'll love it soon.
