| Sleepy Puppy! So, Marley seems to sleep an awful lot! I know he is VERY young (5-6 weeks) and expect lots of sleeping. But, he sleeps for a few hours, then wakes up, gets a drink, pees, plays for maybe 5-10 minutes and then zonks out again. Could something be making him extra tired? Heidi |

| I wouldn't worry about it! I think that when they are sleeping, they are growing! When I first got Chloe, she slept almost the entire day. She would play for a total of maybe 4-6 hours and then sleep the rest! She still sleeps quite a bit and she is 16 weeks tomorrow! |

| 6 weeks old is still very young. It would be very normal for him to sleep a lot. Gracie Ruth & Yogi were both 12 weeks old when I got them and even at that age they slept a good bit still.

| I know he is very young still. I usually don't get puppies until they are at least 10 weeks. When my Chihuahua had her litter, we didn't let him go to a new home until he was 14 weeks because of his size. Marley unfortunately was taken from his mother at 2 weeks. He definitely has separation issues. And he was covered in fleas, and ticks, and had worms. So, he was being depleted of his nutrients. I'm making his appointment today because...well I want to know he is ok :-) and stop worrying a little bit. But, I just get concerned he is sick or something when he sleeps so much. Thanks for your imput! |
