Thor's Human Donating Member | Drive by grooming - vent Okay, so some of you may remember that I adopted Thor from a coworker a few months ago. Against my better judgment, I let her "sit" for him last night. Today, I was thinking, that's odd, he looks like a sad old man. Then I realized: SHE CUT HIS WHISKERS! Yep, those whiskers that I've been growing out for the past four months, that I've been greasing down every day so they don't get in his eyes - they're gone. I know it's not a big deal, but I think it's pretty obnoxious because I'd told her that I had taken him to the groomer this weekend. He goes to an extremely chi-chi groomer who helps him maximize on his inherent adorable-ness. Obviously I was happy with his hair cut! I called her up and bitched a little, but it's not like she can glue the hair back on. Honestly, it is not her dog anymore, she does not dictate his appearance. I would never modify a dog's appearance without asking his owner first. Just have to post it here because everyone in real life would think I'm crazy for being mad at this. And maybe you will too, ha ha. But still! SOME people!

| I don't think you're crazy to be angry at all! I would be furious if someone did that to my dog without my permission! What did she have to say for herself when you called to complain? |

| You are not crazy at all! I'd feel the exact same way that you do. That just boggles my mind thinking that someone would go and do that when it's not even their dog! |

Thor's Human Donating Member | She said what a normal person would say, ooooooh, I'm so sorry, they were in his eyes, blah blah blah. It didn't even occur to me when I gave her to him that I'd have to say, hey, please don't alter his appearance without asking me first. Also, it chaps my butt that she didn't even volunteer this to me after the fact. He looks so great when he comes back from this groomer. She really did a number on him. I guess I should be grateful she didn't have him shaved.

| How RUDE of her! I would be angry as well, especially if I had been working so hard to grow them out!

| Hummmmm I don't think Thor will have any more unsupervised visits. You just never know what some people will do. It's a good thing that whiskers grow. In time you will look back and snicker.... |

| Wow, that is sooo wrong. She had no right, even if her intentions were good. I'm sorry you got set back 4 months worth of whisker growing, but at least they will grow back. We have a certain hair style in mind for Maggie May and if someone screwed it up for us, I would definitly have words with them. Actually, I think my Hubby would have words with them. He wants her mustache to grow out so he can get some mustache wax and give her a "handle bar" mustache, like some old baseball player...MEN!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I would have been upset too. And you're right, who would ever think to tell a pet sitter, "Oh btw, please don't cut his hair." PS....Ruby still loves Thor regardless of his whisker length

| LOL. QuickSilver, I'm sure you don't know this, neither do you know me, but I must confess, I love you! LOL. You have such a great sense of humour that comes through in your posts. Seriously, you are my type. Oh, and, um, yes, Poo Poo to that woman from Thor's former life. Definitely, I second the no more unsupervised visits. Birthdays and holidays are out of the question also. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | Aw... Thank you, guys, I'm feeling better. I don't know what she was thinking, but Thor is still unbearably cute. I'm told hair grows... sigh.

| Whoever told you that? I think they were lying to make you feel better... J/K! I'm sure it'll grow right back on the day of the next full moon! Is that tomorrow for you? I am so sorry. It was just too difficult to resist. I will shut up now and stop refreshing the YT screen. Time for bed! P.S. Thor is still a very handsome little guy whiskers or no! Love his shiny coat and cute innocent little face! |

| I would have been furious! She or anybody else should never cut or do anything to your (or mine) Yorkies w/out any permission! Who does she think she is! Thor doesn't belong to her anymore! Whew! Got all worked up!
