| I guess he misses me... I hope Well... I have posted my story about a dog sitting... but here I am again. I was dog sitting my friend's yorkie, Guinness for 10 days. The owner came back yesterday and came to get him. The owner was surprised because he didn't bark when she came. But Guinness was happy to see her. So I got a call from my friend, the owner of Guinness. We are going out for dinner. Then I asked her how Guinness is doing as I have missed him all night. She tells me that he is acting weird, and very quiet. Then she asked me what I have done to him. (She was not really angry.) I told her that I didn't do anything bad. Guinness has an anxiety issue, and I am not sure if he is afraid that he would be left to someone else again. Or He just misses me.. I had a really great time with him. I couldn't really let him bark in my apartment, so I lifted him up before I went out for a walk with him. I never scolded him when he was at my place. So I hope he is okay. I hope he just misses me.... The owner seems to be really concerned.. I want to watch him again, so I hope... I didn't do anything bad.. I doubt I did.. I just cared for him so much... |

| I am sure you didn't do anything wrong but what did you do to get him not to bark? |

| Well.. Of course, he barks.. I guess he usually barks often. But when he was staying with me, I couldn't let him bark as much... I wanted to avoid it. So.. He barks when he is excited to go for a walk. So I lift him up and pad him .... give him some nice massage. Then I let him bark as soon as we go outside. Or when I played with him, he might bark. So before he started barking more, I just padded him.. So he calms down.. When he came with me at work everyday. He sometimes barked to my clients (kids and mom) so I lifted him up to calm him down and told him that he didn't have to bark because they are nice people. That is all I did.. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I bet he DOES miss you - Tell your friend he's just adjusting to being home again - I know they become attached to us just like we become attached to them - You sound like you did beautifully with him - your friend is lucky to have such a great babysitter. Can you come to Houston ? If I had a good babysitter - I could maybe get a life ! |

| awww, I bet he just enjoyed all the attention he got from you! 10 days is a long time, though...maybe he just adjusted to you, then his owner came back, now he's confused! Sounds like you are a great dog sitter!

| Of course, he misses you. They attach themselves easily to people when they eat, sleep, and play with you. He loves his owner, but he misses you, too, and doesn't understand being shuffled back and forth. They can be confused easily.
