| yorkies dont shed? a major plus when decding what dog to get was that yorkies dont shed, i have allergies so that was a major concern. Well one day my mom was brushing our german shepard with a brush called a "Ferminator" WOW you wouldnt not believe the hair i got out of bailee when I tried it on her!For a non shedding dog it was crazy. Has anyone else ever tried a ferminator??

| Furminators get the shedding undercoat out. Yorkies are a single coated breed and have hair, not fur. They don't shed but will lose some hair every day just like we do. The furminator probably broke a lot of hair off. I would never use that on a yorkie because it will break the coat

The hair you were getting off Bailey wasn't shed hair, the brush was stripping her coat.

| I'm trying to convince my parents to get a furminator for their border collie...I got a coupon when I got a packet of info on dogs and they don't understand why I'm not getting it and trying to give it to them! lol
