| Where can I get my dog some nookie? My 4.5lb Yorkie just turned one year old and suddenly the last few days he's on me like white on rice. If I'm sitting on the couch, he's humping my arm, or back, or jumping on my shoulders and humping my head. If I'm walking from room to room, he's on my leg, foot or standing in front of me in defiance daring me to come closer. if I get anywhere close to the ground, or god forbid lay my head down on the pillow, um.... When he's not trying to hump me, he sits there staring at me. I confronted him last night and told him, "Hey! I'm a married woman lay off!" Didn't seem to do any good. I did that to a cat one time and was devastated when he came home with no testicles. Had I known they were going to be cut off, boy did I feel guilty and still do! I thought it was more like they do to men, you know, like snip that little fertile fishy line where their swimmers like salmon fighting against the current, well you get it. Thor's Human Donating Member | For the longest time, I thought "neutering" was like a vasectomy, not castration. I grew up with pets all my life and work with dogs on a weekly basis. I felt so silly when I finally put it together. That being said, neutering is really the way to go if you don't plan to breed your dog. They don't need their balls, and they are much easier to get along with. I'm sure other posters will be along to give more details on the benefits of neutering and the cons of not doing so. And no, I've never heard of a doggy ho.

| Letting you dog breed will not solve your problem, it might make it worse. Your dog needs discipline. You should take firm action when your dog displays that behavior to you. Obviously your dog has taken over as the master of the house and you need to regain control. My male dogs have never been allowed to exhibit that type of behavior. Neutering most likely would stop some of that unwanted behavior. |

I'm sure a breeder could tell you how a males personality changes after he has been used to stud. Then you can decide if you really want to go that route otherwise neutering him would probably be your best option. As an alternative you could get him a blow up sheep. At adult toy store?

| Well, I don't know if I want to breed him and am not ready to snip off his balls quite yet. I like the idea of breeding him if I could get another puppy. Do they get worse when they have sex?

| Maybe you should consider having your Yorkie neutered...it will resolve his 'issues' and you'd be able to relax a little |

Well, thanks a lot. Nice welcome guys. So when do you take people seriously? How many posts do I have to post before I'm not laughed at and taken seriously. Is there a beginner thread on here where my questions will get taken a bit more seriously?

| Neutering your dog would be the best option. Allowing him to be bred or continue with this pattern will only make matters even worse. Allowing dogs to breed is a matter that should be taken seriously and only done by someone who has properly educated themselves on the process. It's not something you do just to "get your dog some nookie" in the hopes of making your life a bit easier. Although I have to admit, this does sound a bit silly, so I can see why some assume it's a joke. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 03-13-2009 at 09:33 AM. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | Ha! I was totally waiting for someone to bring up Neuticles! Ca-hone-ayzzzzzzzzz. gracewriter, your first post was written in a humorous style, so you can understand why we'd run with that, can't you? The serious part is the neutering. Hopefully someone will post about the medical benefits.

| I've been reading this forum ever since I got him last June. it was a life saver when he was bleeding out his butt. All the advice worked and got it to stop. The vet wanted $$$$$$ for something we fixed with pumpkin and rice. I do appreciate this site, I guess you don't know I've been a member a long time because I haven't posted much. And frankly you DID SAY you weren't taking me seriously because of the amount of my posts.
