| What are the best "Bigger" companions for yorkies? In your opinion? Next year when Jackson is a little older, I would love to rescue a dog or puppy from a shelter. However, I'm looking at more medium/larger sized dogs. If the right dog comes along and is small, I would take it in a heartbeat as well, but realistically I'm looking at a bit larger dog but not TOO large. But anyways... do any of you have larger dogs along with your yorkies? And what breed may make the best companion?

| Aw cute! There is chow/golden mixes at the shelter near my place! So tempting! But I don't think I can handle another puppy at the same time as Jackson right now, lol

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have been volunteering at a shelter working with the dogs and at first I was afraid to walk the bigger dogs but as I gain more confidence I have walked some medium sized dogs. There is a sweet cocker spaniel that seems to get along with others. Most of the dogs at the shelter are mixed breeds but the s**tz-zu mixes are sweet. Also a puggle seems pretty sweet.

| Well we have a Mini Schnauzer, an Aussie/Golden mix, and a American Pit Bull along with our yorkie and they all get along great. We also have a Shih-Tzu that comes and stays for a week at a time, no problems what so ever. |

| I have a six year old male boxer, named Joe. He & Jesse (12 week old female yorkie) get along great!!!!!!!! It depends on the way the dog has been raised more than the breed, I think so anyway. Joe has been raised with 5 grandkids, ages 11 to 3, so he is just a good tempered dog. |

| We have a Belgium Malinois. I really think that any dog you get will be a great pet and companion.

| Boxers make very good friends. Our boxer became mommy when we first brought our yorkie home. It was so cute.

| I think the best bigger companion for a Yorkie is Mommy and Daddy!

| Runt's bigger pal is our Chocolate Lab "Buddy".....Runt loves him. Runt just had to have 12 teeth removed and a tumor in is ear and as soon as we brought him home Buddy started licking his face very gently and layed down next to Runt's bed. He knew Runt was feeling bad and has been so nice and gentle with him.....I LOVE my Boys!!!!
