| Difference between female and male Yorkies I noticed that females go for higher price than males. Is there a reason for that, in terms of temperament, smartness etc? |

| females vs males I really can't answer your question as to why, but I had a male first and I now have a female. The male was all about play. The female is about play, but as soon as either I or my husband sit down, she is in our lap. We loved the male and love the female. The female does seem to be a little smarter. My husband used to play hide and seek with the male. He would joke that Sammy could smell poop a mile away but couldn't find him hiding in the kitchen. You'll be happy with either one, I'm sure!! |

| I think the females are more desirable because they don't mark like the males do. That and you can rub their bellies without...well you know. Other than that, I think boy furbabies have a sweeter demeanor...but that's just an opinion

| The female go for more money because there is a higher demand for them. |

| Every breed... You'll usually see this with every breed, because the females can reproduce and make you money. It's all about the dollar signs to some. Sorry. If you ask your breeder, and they say it's because they are in higher demand...ask why that demand is so.

| I thought females were more expensive because they have the babies. But anyways, I find males to be more laid back and easier to train (But he's my first yorkie, I've had all previous breeds of dogs as females)

| Since my pups go out on a spay nueter contract I don't price females any differently than my males. Alot of breeders price females higher, because of supply and demand. Most people want females. They think they're easier to train and they don't mark territory. Both are untrue. Girls do mark you just don't catch them. I find my boys are easier to train, because they are so eager to please.
